BFG All Terrain T/A KO3’s - Let’s Talk

I wonder how the actual size of the K03 35x12.50s compare to the 325/65s. Does BFG have specs on their site yet? Mathematically, they're near as makes no difference especially given that most 35s aren't quite 35".
325/65R18 is typically about the same height as a 35x12.5 but a little wider.

For 20 inch wheels, a 325/60 is usually wider and about an inch taller than 35x12.5

This is all assuming it’s the same tire you’re comparing.

Looking for some of these locally, costco only has the KO2 and historically are cheaper than tire rack, plus free install. Tire rack is out of stock. Got a giant screw in one of my tires so that's as good a reason as I am going to find to replace them! I pull a 10k lb trailer so the higher load rating is welcomed. I used to pull it with a GMC 1500 with nitto terra grapplers due to their high load rating, but they would spin at a red light in the rain, so they aren't a good option for a TRX. The reviews of the recon grappler also frequently mention the poor wet traction on lesser vehicles. AWD helps, but why not get a tire that people complement the wet performance?

I had bf ko2 37/13.5/18 e load rating on factory wheels. It was much quieter on the highway. The bad things about bf ko2 is ride is terrible. It hits road imperfections so hard that it’s unbearable. Second the tire has horrible handling. Third its a very light for 37 inch tire but it really made the TRX slower.
Switched back to factory goodyears .
Goodyears are superior to bf ko2s.
My ride is great again and the handling is great. Power is back.

That was my first impression as well with the same combination, I even have the heavy beadlock style OEM with the factory Goodyears and the lighter OEM Stock wheel with the 37x13.5R18 KO2's. KO2's are much quieter, weirdly though ride comfort it has not improved, power wise it is horrible if you don't change the tire size in the cluster/ecu then it get's better but you loose the parking sensors (tazer fix available).
I went back to the stock set up as well for now but will give the 37's another try once the NoLimitz and Parksense fix arrive. Also will have to mess around a little more with tire pressures.

I’ve always been a BDG KO2 fan and this time (3k miles ago) went with the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss. WOW they rise like butter and are outstanding on the trails. No regrets!

Just had K03’s installed and here are my first driving impressions. The stock tires are vague and very balloon like. Bumps would send the truck wandering on the road and the K03’s are the opposite. You get a more direct feeling which I actually prefer. Noise? I still hear the wine of the supercharger and wind more than anything. They are a very quiet tire and appears to me to be quieter than stock. The tires also feel more planted to the road. Less jumpy… kind of going back to the balloon /squishy feel of the OE tires. Invariably someone is going to ask, is it worth it… and to that I say, depends on the person. I didn’t hate the OE tires so much that I wanted to throw away 1700, I just felt like I could trust the updates version of a K02 for year round driving… especially when the snow comes. To me, a higher load rated tires with a stiffer feel really helped with the vague squishy feel of the load D tires. So for me, initial impressions, “yes?”, but I think time will give a more concrete answer.

I would have been ok with an E Rating, but F seemed a little stiff. Please report back as you put more miles on the tires.

Similar feedback I had with the KO2s and OEMs. All I've ever run has been BFG All Terrains, probably 7th pair of KO2s on a truck but I am looking forward to grabbing a set of 37" K03s next spring to test out.

Bumping this thread as I’m considering a 37 x 12.5 r18 KO3 for my next set of tires……preferred load range? Everyone happy with these tires thus far? The attraction for me is they seem to be one of the “lighter” 37’s.
My truck is pulley and tune but I’ll be damned if I let my buddies Raptor beat me after switching to 37’s. (He’s on 37’s as well)

From my research, BFG doesn't make 37x12.50r18, but they do make them in 13.50. I've been wanting them in that size too. Also, Toyo Open Country AT3 (37x12.50r18) are the lightest tire I've found, weighing in at 71 pounds.

You are correct, 13.5…..my mistake. I have also looked at those Toyos. I had Toyo RT’s on my F250 and loved them but they were heavy.

If weight is a big concern for you, I'd go with Toyo Open Country AT3 tires. They are a great option.
