Best replacement windshield wipers?

Real men don't wipe!

Keep your windshield slick, clean and waxed and you will not have to use wipers!

I have used both Bosch and RainX. Both work well in my opinion.

I've owned a few sets of Bosh Icons over the years, and some have been worth the hype while others have not. I'm not sure why. As new wipers do, they'd start off good, but some of my Icon sets have gone to streaking rather quickly, while others worked well for a while.

I have also had great experience with PIAAs, but consistently so (unlike the Icons). Maybe it's in the materials. The Icons are a ?proprietary? rubber, while the PIAAs are silicon. PIAA's marketing says their silicon degrades more slowly than rubber blades, but I believe silicon can also handle heat better than most rubber. So, when I've been disappointed with Icons, it may have something to do with how hot our summer was that year. Summers in my part of Texas can range from a hand full of triple digit days to, this year, 47 days, many over 105F.

Anyway, this thread reminded me my factory wipers weren't cutting it. PIAA didn't list a fitment for the RAM 1500 (although I bet their 24" fit), and I'm not sold on Icons, so I bought some RainX silicon wipers. We'll see.

Try the trico ultras

Every couple months I scrub my windshield down with 0000 steel wool with a good glass cleaner with 2 towels (wet & dry) then coat with rainx (i remove the rainx with a little bit of water). Had my icons for 11 months and my truck lives outside in the north east, they still work well and my windshield is always steak free, a pleasure to drive in any condition (rain/sleet/snow).

Try cleaning the blades with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol, that makes the wiper like new most of the time.
Also add some WD-40 to them and let it soak in and wipe it off and voila good as new...

Just got these and they don’t fit. Won’t push in any more than this. Anyone else have this issue with the Bosch Icon 24A?

Oddly enough, I just put a new set of Bosch Icons on today. And yes, there’s a trick to putting them on correctly. The lid that flips up has to be at the outer end of the wiper arm. When you close it, it’s what keeps the blade assembly from coming out of the j hook.
So yours is installed the wrong way. Flip it around, pass the j hook through the opening, hook it completely over the assembly, and pull it tight to engage it. Then close the lid. If that makes sense.

Appreciate all of the advice! Just went out there and got them installed. I was truly convinced I bought the wrong ones lol!

I went with them because of recommendations on this forum, and have no complaints; Bosch Icon size 24A

I also rainX my windshield often.
I used to use RainX but leaves streaks. I switched to Aquapel, 10x better, last longer, no streaking.

Dude asking this is like asking whats the best tire or best gas station. You're going to get a crap ton of different answers. This is definitely one for user reviews. I read a ton and went with rainX. But im sure theres a 100 reasons why I shouldnt use rainx blades. Reviews are your friend, my friend.
Yes rain x solved a lot of problems as it just flows away. Love it
