Best looking side steps for the TRX

I have gorhino dss sliders. I like the looks of them a lot but they don't make it much easier to get in the truck due to them being so narrow.

Some pics…I have the slim series.

Installed these a week ago and love the look. I'll post pics later if anyone is interested.
these are the powdercoat, not the bedliner coating? which one is better?

I have the bedliner…more grip and honestly, I like the textured look. Heck, even the wife loves them lol
no doubt y the bedliner one is much more expensive.

I have the mopar off-road running boards and really like them. I’ll never own another set of power steps again. I had them on my expedition and after the 3rd winter, they crapped out and one stuck in the down position. They are not serviceable or greasable. Maybe if they had some zerk fittings, they’d be better.

I just ordered a set of Rocky Road rock sliders/steps for my TRX. They seem to be a good compromise between step and slider. They should protect the paint at least. And they have a picture of a Ram truck being lifted by a fork lift under the rock slider/step with no damage being done to the slider/step, or truck. We'll see how they are when they show up.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but did you ever get these installed? Impressions? Photos?

Thanks!

I did not. Lead time on getting them built and shipped was just too much. I ordered in March and could not expect to receive them until August. I did not want to take my truck off road without running boards to protect the paint from rock chips, and I did not want to wait that long to finally get to take my truck off road. I canceled the Rocky Road running boards and installed a set of Go Rhino Dominators like everyone else. 1/3 the price, 1/2 the weight, and they showed up in less than a week. And they even work well. three hundred miles off road so far, and not one rock chip.

Other than the retractable (ice and cold climate concerns), what side steps are the best look for our trucks?
So I want to give a little insight into the retractable step. Yes, it will make life in and out more luxurious but it will provide no protection from anything your tires kick up and potentially slam against the side of the truck. Any pebbles that will dislodge off a tire, any sand potentially ect ect it can all do damage to the bottom side panels. That’s one of the main reasons I went with the rock rails by Mopar. It is installed attached and recessed to the underside of the truck and doesn’t take away from the “height majesty” of the TRX like the off road style running boards that look big wide and clunky and take away from the height aesthetic. The rock rails is a thin step to help get up and in and then down and out. Nothing more. Nothing less and it nicely gets lost by the truck itself which is what all TRX’s should be about.

I ended up going with the Ram Off Road Running Boards. I like the OEM look and the RAM logo on them.

My last truck that had retractable running boards (2021 Powerboost F150) almost killed me one day when I had pulled into a parking space and finished a phone call for about 5 minutes before I got out. I somehow confused the computer via some specific sequence of events (trans in P, leaving power on for too long, then opening door, etc) and long story short when I opened the door and stepped out the running boards weren't out like I expected them to be. Just about bit it face first on the asphalt parking lot. I decided then and there that I wasn't going to go for retractables again.

This could also be solved by looking before you step out of the truck. Especially in the winter when you might be stepping on ice.

Ram Off-road running boards for me too. They look great, non slip, functional protection, and perfect egress for the heel of my Luccheses. :)

i really like the white knuckle off-road rock sliders
