I still don’t think Fords interior is there, and with all of the drivetrain testing issues they’re having with the R, they probably will spend all of their development budget on getting that right, which means the raptor interior will stand in on the R. Ram just does interiors well, Ford did not overtake them with the redesign (though it is a lot nicer vs the 2020 and older.

Agree on the interior. Just looked at the ZR2 thread, and that interior is improved, but still not as nice as the RAM.

I am assuming the R is just going to be the Gen3 with a V8.

By the time the R comes out Bambi will have the TRX all modd-ed up and will have no use for it....ha ha!

If I didn’t want to compete on interiors and I was Ford, I would build a racey stripped down interior with buckets. Would save a ton of weight and make the interior comparison moot. I would absolutely look at that truck

Like I said I give it a month tops unless you stop otherwise, the ban hammer will fall. You have been explicitly warned a 2nd time so just walk away. Now if the FRF folks had a troll who came over here and did the same thing as Bambi (yes you pretend like you had honorable intentions when you joined there ) then people here would react the same way.

The poor guys at FRF are showing frustration in the way Ford has been handling the Raptor development through the years but they still buy them? When someone comes there to rub their collective noses in it they respond defensively and you revel in it! Many of the folks here are former Raptor owners and MAY be again in the future depending on what happens with the much anticipated "R" version in a couple of years. For me in a my truck will be about 2.5 years old and over 100k so time for the next best in class HP monster while we can still get them.

That's a big assumption on the "R" being the next best in class truck. Seems like they are just trying to keep up with the TRX now. And that assumes RAM doesn't already have something in the works.

The "R" may not be the BIC truck did not say that it would be. Ram may have something to else to offer as well being it will be 3 years old. The "R" version I will wait for the 2nd year model so all of the bugs get worked out to consider it. Clear GM will not be a player when it very well could have been so it will be between Ford and Ram. Save my motor almost burning up from oil loss and the tranny line leaking no issues on this 1st year truck. Very much pleased with the on and off road performance after replacing the wiener skin tires.

This thread needs this post…. I’m driving this morning and behind me is a newer raptor. Offset rims, KM3, frame cut bumper. Nice truck. So he’s behind me… and I have to make a right turn. He blasts around me to my left and unloads his fart can. Brrrap Brrrap brrrap. I cracked up. I wasn’t even trying to mess with him or anything. Total machismo envy.

LOL have had that happen to me a few times but am used to it after the cars and bikes I have had over the years. The ringy dingy motor plus the fart cans make them pretty obnoxious to me. Man Ford left a lot of money on the table over the years with that one.

You think there is a chance that the R is a one year thing only as Ford moves to an all electric fleet?

I am not a loyalist either, if the R is badass, and RAM has nothing in response, I would definitely look at it in a few years.

But it would have to be pretty badass, because I really like the look, interior, etc if the TRX.

I doubt it is a one year but definitely a short run especially with even more regulation looming....

Agreed. Similar to other R models, I would suspect it will be at least a 3-year run. One year is not cost-effective for any maker.
