Audio recommendations

I’m still in the middle with what i wanna do. Been seeing some awesome all around builds and also some stealthbox add ons and still trying to make my decision. I’m happy with it for now. Just been concentrating on saving up for the hogh HP mods i want lol.

HP vs Music - that's what I love about the TRX, the supercharger whine and audio.

Go see Don in Edison, or call him.

This guy did something close, but could only fit an 8” Pioneer, and only with a spacer. The Pioneer is even thinner than the 10tw3, FWIW. He has the Alpine system but the location, woofer and box sizes are near identical. There’s just not a lot of depth back there to work with.

I have the Stealthbox and think it’s well worth it. But there are certainly cheaper options. Plenty of single 10” boxes are available for under the back seat. Or maybe one of the real thin powered units could squeeze onto the back wall. Either in the original sub’s place, or the driver’s side back wall. There’s a decent space where the E-Torque battery lives on lesser Rams. Just have to work around the active damper control module.

I have the HK system just got the JL Audio Stealth box with two 10" subs plus a 1,000 watt JL amp installed and it if you're going for bass
I have the same system and about to get it installed. I am curious what did you pay for your installation? Your install looks clean!

It has to be the correct impedance or you'll have issues. I had a custom box for a single 10, 400W Kicker amp, interface, etc. All installed for $1,200.

I'll go a bit more for my 23 - balance out highs, mids, and bass better.
I have ChemLab's old truck, and I'm fairly pleased with the single 10" Kicker in the box under the seat. It's not going to shake your fillings loose, but it adds some nice upgraded thump to the system. I love the fact that it didn't take up the entire underseat area, only the passenger side. With the little divider panel up I can store small things that might roll around, and on the floorboard area I can put larger items. It keeps some utility to the underseat area while still upgrading the bass. That being said, I wouldn't disuade anyone from getting a full underseat box if you really want some thump.

Hey. You got any oics of your setup? Really just the box and amp mount location.

I had the box custom made by a shop in Austin. They'll gladly make one and ship it out to you for around $250 or so. As CP mentioned, it only takes up half of the space and sounds quite good. This is the best picture I took. Perhaps CP can post a couple more. It'll take a Kicker or RF shallow 10 inch sub. The amp is whatever you prefer. Install, with the interface, was $1200.

ChemLab's pic shows it about as good as can be shown. The setup doesn't take up a huge amount of space, which I like. I typically keep the driver's side rear seat in the up position so I can set things like groceries, etc. on the floor easily. I can throw small things in the cubby and then put that seat down when I want to hide them (like a small gym bag) so people don't see something easy to steal.

Not sure of Scott closed shop or he's not dealing with single units anymore. Or he just hates me 🤣 I had spoke to him around Thanksgiving about him making the same box to fit a 10" square Kicker L7T in and he said he could do it.

Since then I've attempted to contact him 3 different times and no response. Hope all is well with him and his business, really cool dude when I spoke to him.

There is nothing like this on the market I can find. Kicker makes a compRT with a passive radiator in downward firing and truck box style. But I want to keep my tray...and not interested in the JL or MTI boxes that take up the whole thing with little cubbies in them. 🤷

Before I decided to go all out I was considering this…might be what you’re after:

If you look at the review photos, it tucks in pretty nice with the storage tray on his 5th gen Ram.

4x8"s? If you want some SPL this is the route I would take for sure.

So I did some searching this weekend and I found this company that makes these. I called them today and didn't recieve a call back. My new route is to put in a JL 10TW3 which I believe is what's in the Stealbox. With a JL JD500/1 amp.

Who buys a 100k blown V8 pickup and cares about the stereo system? I hear electric cars are great for sound systems.
I know you're joking, buying a $144,000 vehicle, cash, after taxes/warranties, and getting a lack luster ANYTHING would suck, BUT I don't get the hate for this audio system.. it sounds perfect to me! People expect the truck to come off the line bumping.. BUMPING IS TECHNICALLY ILLEGAL within city limits in most places! So no it won't blow your windows out but it sounds amazing!

Some people can't tell the difference between a $2 bottle of whiskey and a $100 bottle, but there is a difference when your pallet has matured.

Similar to wine and beer. Same with audio, and after listening to music, like really listening to the sounds, one will realize that the stock system is not very good relative to the price of the truck. It's not garbage, but it's also not good enough for our truck.
