Another Exhaust Question

do any of the options out there have that backfire / pop / gurgle when you let off the accelerator ?

Great question! My Hellcat challenger has that, and its stock. The TRX exhaust is not there, and if there was a way to match or exceed I would go that route, without being obnoxious (ex. straight pipes). Can't recall seeing an answer to your question, hoping someone has that answer.

Then one person mentioned Borla does that, and another person said they have Borla and one would be disappointed if they wanted that gurgle/pop.

Borla Atak is popular with us.

For the guys that want valves, the GTHAUS is a badass sounding exhaust. Deep too..

Got both in stock.

Do you have opinions or actual real life use and can elaborate on the difference from stock, and if the Borla is close to a stock hellcat challenger exhaust?

just a quick update: I just went and meet with a guy locally who has the ATAK on his TRX. and while it did sound very good, no complaints actually. It just wasnt that V sound that I am hoping for, or least with some of those crackles. And he said his does not do any type of popping or crackle'n.

So here I sit, trying to spend some money still. hahaha.

Interesting, this is the first I've heard this. any before and after videos?

Which ones?

The black chrome tips, #60718BC

I haven’t taken any videos. I had the OE tips on for about a year and I drive with the rear slider open a good bit when it’s nice out so really familiar with how it sounds. I noticed the difference the first time I drove it. Kinda makes sense when you think about it, Borla did design them to work together.

Borla seemed to really put some cool engineering into their Atak so I’m not surprised that the tips even have an effect
Absolutely. I don’t think the Borla tips are so much deeper and wider than the OEM ones just for looks. I’m sure it has an effect on the sound.

The V does sound good, but you won’t be able to hear those crackles and pops when you’re in front of it in a TRX. That engine in the Camaro, vette and V is more crackly than a hellcat for sure, however, I still think the hellcat has a very unique sound as well.

Borla cracks at WOT in between shifts and would say it burbles at deceleration. I don’t think any exhaust will make it pop and bang, it’s more the tuning of the engine, but if you find one let us know.

I am learning this more and more today. A service manager buddy said that PERHAPS there could be some tuning done if I ever decide to put headers on it and if they needed to hook it up and and all that.

So now, it is just a matter of which exhaust will be the closet to what I want, and the most compatible with any future header mods that I may chose - if that even matters.
I dont think I have a need to run straight pipes or dumps. If I did, that would be nothing more than for amusement and to piss off a particular neighbor - or open them up on the highway to scare people . lol.
My truck is a pavement princess, and i very ok with that.

Do what the Mustang guys do and get a ghost tune (crackle tune or cam tune) Haha. I always think that’s so weird. Sounds good but doesn’t do anything, actually hurts, the performance.

My neighbors don’t give a fuck, maybe made me cynical lol. But you’re making me want to look into cutouts if it really brings out the true sound and louder. Which ones do you run? I just always quickly thought they were too unnecessarily complicated for an exhaust.
I was just being a dick I keep mine open all the time, lol. At first I used to close them often but after a while you kind of hate them closed and let them hang loose.

If one leaves early AMs or if you take the truck on a family trip, it's nice to be able to close them and enjoy a stock quiet ride. My wife hates the cutouts open.

I agree with a post that it does overtake the SC whine, unless you get a Bwoody or other snorkel type CAI. Then you will get the best of all worlds with the SC crying loud and exhaust crackling-TRX heaven 🙌

I got the QTP cutouts.

I'm getting headers and a cam soon. Was happy with my truck until I listened to my tuner's cammed trackhawk.
It's almost like music made for a V8 enthusiast.
A nicely cammed HC engine at a coldstart is just awesomeness.

If one is on the fence with exhaust wanting it louder and pop I would go with the GT haus or any other cutouts.
I went the muffler change route and quickly wanted more.
The other popular mufflers and stock exhaust sound good to others by your truck /getting passed but to the driver it just isn't enough IMO.

If available - DM someone in your area (from this forum) that may have the exhaust option you're pursuing and willing take you on a ride/hear the note at idle/driving by and WFO.

I've offered same with SLP Loudmouths to anyone on the fence around Phoenix.

It's a subjective perspective.

(Comically I had an exhaust hanger break and cause a small hole in the exhaust too. Seemed to sound even better so it remains 'unresolved' :ROFLMAO: 🦖 )

Let me know when you do so we can setup a trx meet up! It’s going to sound killer with a cam and header!

I am thinking that this will certainly be in my future. I have a few other things to check off the list first. So exhaust for now.

Just have mufflers cut off. Have two pieces of 3” stainless exhaust pipe welded in place. $40 for the pipe, $100 labor. Cover the four vents by the tail pipe, I haven’t done this part yet.

Big thank in advance here guys.
Ive watched more you tube videos than I can count I feel like they don't do justice to the real sounds.

Short Question:
I want my TRX to sound more mean like my Esc V. I have had corsa exhaust before on older model Esc that I had, So I am leaning that way for the TRX I could really use some educated opinions here or some help narrowing down a top two choices.

I may do headers down the road, but not now. If that factors into anything for the choice now.

Thanks Yall,
Like you I have a 2024 too and wanted a little more exhaust bite…so I went with MRT’s solution…actually MRT is a vendor on this site…easy install…kit comes with great clamps so you can go back to stock without too much drama…sound??? if you’re looking for a bad ass sound profile, this is it….caution, cold starts are insane but after it warms up sounds wicked…YouTube has some great videos of their product on a TRX…

MRT H-pipe. Cold start is amazing, normal highway driving sounds the same as stock but once you give her a little juice she starts to scream. Very inexpensive consider. (I can't speak to passing an emissions test - likely fail, just FYI).

I just looked into the MRT. From all the videos I watched, it seems the one they make for the RHO gives a nice crackle at the end but not the same for the Regular TRX. I could be wrong. I like the sound. I swear all this crap starts to sound alike. hah.

I think I am going to make the decision to go with GTHAUS . Then I need to move on to the lift and get some 37s

We can save you some $$ on the GTHAUS setup, lot of the guys are doing factory AUX valve hook ups too.

+ Eibach springs + Vossens HF5 lol. Sounds like a RAM TRX starter pack setup that we do a lot haha.
