Group Buy #1: RB Performance Brakes 4-Piston BBK For 18" Wheels Q1 2024 (CLOSED)

Is there a kit with just front calipers, pads, and rotors? (everything for just front)

I worked with the guys at Racing Brake a long time ago when I was at Infiniti and the design of the rotors they came out with was outstanding.

Will the brake kit work on Volk TE37XT 18’s? I’m here in SoCal and would love to get a kit if it works with the wheels.

@Psifer thank you for implementing this group buy. I'm in for Option #3 - Front Calipers, Pads & Adaptors Only (No Rotors) in Red. I have created my account with racingbrake.com as well. Please let me know if any additional info is needed.

Thanks again!

Still nothing for 17's?
Downsizing the factory wheel is not a good idea especially for TRX, just like other trucks and SUV, it has a beefy (big, heavy & bulky) hub spindle, wheel bearing, and brake proportional to it load and HP - Mechanical is NOT Electronic.
Questions:

1. What's the motivation for going down to 17".
2. Any other aftermarket kits available.
3. How many TRX owners are interested in this.
4. Those who are looking for downsize ever considered compromising the safety at the same time.

17" brake kits are for those popular track cars like Subie WRX/STi, Mitus EVO 8/9/20, Nissan 350Z, Infinite G35, BMW M3, Mazda RX8 etc. back in early 2000 which RB was highly involved but realize those front brakes are even smaller than today sports cars' REAR brake.

If you and other TRX owners have compelling reasons to have 17" kit and with the understanding of consequence in downsizing their brakes, we can look into it but it will be a major challenge for the involvement, and the cost will be higher than the standard 18" kit being offered.

Thank you for remembering us, usually aftermarket wheels are more forgiving than stock so I believe it shall fit although a template test is still recommended before ordering.

Note: Our published fitment template is precisely accurate (in scale) as long as you verify the "print out" vs. the "real" dimension before cutting with a scissor.

Yes, that option has been added to the website. I edited the main post to reflect the change. You would need to select the "Front Caliper Kit Only" option which comes with the calipers, pads, adaptors, and front rotors. The price would be $2550.00 after the discount has been applied. You can save an additional 10% if you order the complete "Car Kit" that includes the rear rotors as well.
can you put me down for a complete car kit in red please

Funny enough my extra wheel just came in from Japan. I guess I’ll try and print out the template and see what it looks like.

The current OEM caliper is cutting it pretty close.
I’ll report back shortly. I’ll probably just go with the calipers kit for now and then add the rest later.

Any plans for a rear caliper setup in the future?

What's the offset of the wheels that you have? In the picture I posted, it looks like the template is near the front lip where the spokes connect to the barrel. I imagine if you have a more negative offset wheel, then you should have greater clearance.

From my understanding, there is no plan to come out with a rear caliper setup due to the integrated electronic parking brake. Warren briefly touched upon in this post:

They’re a 0 offset, but I feel like they sit a little closer to the barrel of the wheel. Have to work a late shift tonight so won’t be able to check with the template until tomorrow evening.

Makes sense I guess for the rear with the electronic parking brake, but if the other companies make a rear kit I wonder if it messes with that function 🤷🏻‍♂️

Count me in for the whole car kit! I'd like the calipers painted Viper
Shadow Blue PearlPBY

I, too, am on factory beadlocks. I just assumed they were the same fitment as the non-beadlock OEs. I look forward to your template check results. I'm currently without the truck for another 8 days or so.

Following this thread now for future brake upgrades when my stock ones are done

Is unpainted (but ready for paint upon delivery) an option? @Warren-RB
I’d color match the rear calipers with the fronts so rather have it all done once and not try to have to match shades

What a steal of a deal for a quality brake kit! Can’t wait to hear how forum members fare with this upgrade. Following.

We can but it's better to have the powder-coating handled by us for the following reasons:
  • Powder coating is done by our local pro-shop who knows where to "mask" w/o causing assembly issue (eg. thread holes, piston bores etc.)
  • Logo print with silkscreen & baked in oven for the lasting durability.
  • Final assembly.
  • Hydro test.
We have a very comprehensive caliper rebuild program (85% customers are Porsche's), sometimes a customer sent calipers he powder-coated to us for reuild. They look pretty but were un-buildable due to the "masking" errors - End up frustrations and extra time/effort to make them right.

A member already mentioned he would like to have his front caliepers be coated to match with the rear OE calipers (Silver). If you can find our the Pentone color code we can see how close our powder supplier (Cardinal) can come up with.

I'm not up to date with the 17" kit progress, perhaps @Warren-RB can shed some light for us. I know that there were a few stipulations that had to of been met for the 17" kit to be a possibility. One of the major challenges was whether or not the smaller rotor would be compatible with the rear factory caliper that has the electronic parking brake. I'm not sure how the initial testing panned out.
Front brake kit for 17" wheels is up - No rear kit at this time.
