2025 RAM TRX Hurricane MPG

Damn right! No substitute for Cubic Inches. Just ask your moma! LOL!
Had a new V8 Raptor 2014, great truck, but traded for a new 2016 HellCat M6. That 707 hp really put the hook in me.
Next truck a new 2019 Ram Power Wagon, 6.4L V8, also a great truck, but not a “Hot Rod”/ Sports truck. Finally got my new 2022 lvl2 TRX, hands down the PERFECT TRUCK!!
If you buy a TRX or any high performance truck, which is super expensive, why are you worried about gas mileage? Awhile back, my then new, 1992 Chevy 1500, 454SS got 9-10 mpg. Put 70,000 miles on it the first year and had a ball driving all over the USA. F-ck the gas prices, I had just fought the damn Iraqi Republican Guards in DESERT STORM for the gas and I, by damn, was going and still burn as much gas as I want!!!! If you are worried about mpg go buy a EV from some limp wristed car dealship. As for me, no V8 or larger, no HEMI, ain’t interested. I’ll have an EV soon enough, an electric powered wheel chair.
MOPAR OR NO CAR!!
To me it’s not the cost of fuel, but more about range. It would be nice to have a 500 mile range when in the woods hunting. On a long highway road trip it’s not as big a deal as I still have to stop and pee.

Yea I agree I’d like to have seen a bigger tank.

One of the things I really liked about my F150 was the almost 40gallon tank. Could make an 820mile trip and still have 1/5th a tank left

Wow, I didn't expect so much criticism. I guess the hellcat motor disappearing has everyone in a bad mood. I don't like it either but if nothing ever changed, we'd still be riding horses with one horse power.
For your information, my last horse was a 2.367hp unit getting .7 square bales/day on winter blend.

bigger gas tank would have been another hit to our already low payload capacity.

payload is so low many of our members can't fit their wife and mother in law in the truck at the same time.
Some of you people let your Mother in Law inside of your truck? Sorry, dog is in the back, no room for you.

You must be a chubby chaser. 😳

11
My 23 gets 11 to 12 driving combined and 13 to 14 on highway. My 23 is rated 12 combined. What will the Hurricane rated at?
You get 11 to 12 mpg . Please tell me how you are able to achieve that mpg. I get 8 mpg on a good day driving in and around the city and 12 on the highway

I wouldn't necessarily know how to get that little unless it was a goal. Getting 15 mpg or so if keeping it under 80.
And yes, that includes flooring it when passing slower vehicles.

Overland build + 37s will do the trick.

I could have a 1 ton but unfortunately can't fit the mother inlaw. You cant weigh negativity!

turbos will be more efficient, if........ you stay out of boost, which is hard, if not impossible to me. I wont be surprised that the hurricane motor will likely be an easy couple of mods to get up to trx hp/tq numbers, as it will probably be a fully forged setup, and its just well easier to make power with turbo snails than it is with PD blowers. The catch though will be how difficult the re-calibration or tuning of the ecu will be, as reverse engineering the OS on the ecu is getting harder and harder, just look at the C8's. They are licensing out the ability to re-calibrate "tune" ecu on the C8's, so for the first 2 years you had guys running blowers or H/C setups making marginal gains around 50'ish hp.

I am optimistic, as the I6 platform has proven itself via 2JZ in the supra's, or M3, or cummins. It may not sound the same as a V8, but to me HP is HP, don't care how its made, just want lots of it, and to be made efficiently.

It won't matter if the Hurricane can make anywhere near 700 HP to me and many others, because it won't have a warranty...and it will sound like shit.

It’s cool each TRX with the shit engine comes with an OBD plugin engine sound tuner, that mimics any engine you’d like. Turn up the volume!
