2025 RAM TRX Hurricane MPG

Well I mean to go from 700hp to 500hp for only a 1-2 mpg would surely be embarrassing

It might be a few more than 1 but it won't be pretty.

The need to offer the TRX nicely equipped in the mid 60s with the Hurricane or its going to flop. Then again, Americans are known to have extremely short attention spans.

Should have just built that damn 426 engine and used that.

I dont think they can just change the TRX from a 700+ blown v8 to a 500hp TT v6 without calling it something else, e.g., baby Rex or something. It's not the same truck by any margin. In order to even arguably call it a TRX, it needs to have around the same hp or more than the outgoing model ...period. I dont care if they have to put put 2 H.O. TT v6s in there...they cant release a 2025 Ram TRX with 500hp lol. And if that's their plan, i think they should just kill the entire TRX line with outgoing 2024 hellcats. As much as I love the truck, i would never buy it with a 500hp TT v6 (in the past or future). Perhaps, they'll come out with a 1000hp Ram all electric E-Rex (ima trademark that sh@t now lol). Id rather that than try to sell us a v6 TRX with v6 raptor power levels.

Ferd does it with the Raptor, so I don't see anything stopping Ram from doing the same. You won't get an opportunity to buy a V6 TRX because it's going to have an I6. 🙄

I’m sorry, what were you saying?

It’s not @KnightMare reliable info, but from a family member within the organization, he mentioned the TRX name dies with the hellcat. To add, this was not his idea, but repeating from someone higher.

I know from talking to people about Dodge a lot of names are up in the air. I've heard the 4 door Dodge car name has been flipped between Challenger or Charger, The Ram REV name was up in the air for the hybrid version, and so I would figure the TRX would be the same. There was rumors in 2020 they could do "TR" on a smaller engine version and then "TRX" on the more powerful version.

WHAT IF… the trx hurricane is actually going in a Dakota platform????? A smaller framed lighter truck with 550+ HP would be crazy fun!

I can't see why they couldn't get their carbon credits and investor relations kudos by changing the name subtly to TR"e"X (TReX). Then they pair the HO Hurricane with super stout Electric hybrid assist motor. Might actually be a fart can that rips.

That's what I would do if it were my company. :p

More than a dollar more per gallon for 91. Wow. I pay 4.19 per gallon for 93. God i bet you get some smug looks from the EV owners. I bet they are jealous. Especially when you fill up a tank in 12 mins and they have to wait 20mins (or more) for less than a full change.

hybrid v8 + smallish electric motor could deliver 700 hp & higher torque & higher MPG. It's the obvious solution.

3.90 +/- here for 93, I can get 95 for 4.20 (not that 420 :)). Glad I'm not visiting Cali any time soon.

As @KnightMare has said in other threads, they are rumored to be having issues with the Hurricane I6 turbo and hybrid setups. Otherwise we'd have probably seen more about it by now, and I agree, this is probably the route they would have taken.

I’ll bite. Probably 1mpg better than the current model.

Anything that creates boost, during boost, consumes fuel.

No one’s gonna drive that piece of shit anyway, and anyone who has one at a stop light next to a hellcat model, is gonna wish they didn’t have fake piped in musical v8 noise to make them feel better about their investment. I’ll take my crap mpg. It’s the same reason I never gave the raptor a serious look. I wanted the v8

I had a gen 3 raptor and hated the exhaust so much I ran it in quiet mode. Couldn’t wait to get rid of it.

Sad since it looked really good, especially the day time running lights.

Damn right! No substitute for Cubic Inches. Just ask your moma! LOL!
Had a new V8 Raptor 2014, great truck, but traded for a new 2016 HellCat M6. That 707 hp really put the hook in me.
Next truck a new 2019 Ram Power Wagon, 6.4L V8, also a great truck, but not a “Hot Rod”/ Sports truck. Finally got my new 2022 lvl2 TRX, hands down the PERFECT TRUCK!!
If you buy a TRX or any high performance truck, which is super expensive, why are you worried about gas mileage? Awhile back, my then new, 1992 Chevy 1500, 454SS got 9-10 mpg. Put 70,000 miles on it the first year and had a ball driving all over the USA. F-ck the gas prices, I had just fought the damn Iraqi Republican Guards in DESERT STORM for the gas and I, by damn, was going and still burn as much gas as I want!!!! If you are worried about mpg go buy a EV from some limp wristed car dealship. As for me, no V8 or larger, no HEMI, ain’t interested. I’ll have an EV soon enough, an electric powered wheel chair.
MOPAR OR NO CAR!!

Wow, I didn't expect so much criticism. I guess the hellcat motor disappearing has everyone in a bad mood. I don't like it either but if nothing ever changed, we'd still be riding horses with one horse power.
Bull Shit! Using that line of “logic” I should be able to buy a modern truck with a Pratt and Whitney J-79 Jet engine with afterburner (about 25,000 pounds of THRUST!)
