2023 Havoc TRX Almost Stolen Out Of My Driveway

crazy story, your home sounds similar to my layout. I’m so sick and tired of hearing about this theft.

Unfortunately these meets are a gold mine for this shitbags. Lot of balls bringing a truck that was probably stolen also, to trailer it out.

Question for you is what kind of trackers were found. Like LTE one’s off Amazon?
I don’t know exactly what kind of tracker it was since the had some kind of glue over the company name but after looking online I’ve found a couple that it might’ve been. This is the closest I’ve been able to find.

Damn, that's scary. Glad they didn't get a chance. I'd look into IGLA or Ravelco and pairing it with a compustar if you don't have anything like that already.
I would also get a neutral strap cover since they brought a trailer
Just ordered a Ravelco and a neutral strap cover thanks y’all

I know the feeling, I had two attempts on my trx. I use an app called air guard to check my truck every once awhile or when leave it alone in a public parking spot.

Quite the story and good job foiling these pos scumbags. Unfortunately we must all be prepared now days to defend ourselves and our property. You did the right thing by lighting things up to deter them while being prepared to defend yourself if necessary.

Getting Revelco and the neutral strap cover is excellent and you may want to add one of the systems that will alert you of any intrusion into the cab or movement of the vehicle.

If you don't already have cameras on your property I would add some including some down by your gate area. It's pretty sad that we now have to take these precautions just to be left alone but the trend right now doesn't look like that situation will be improving.

Glad your truck survived and glad you posted this. Reminder to us all that there are low life's out there always looking to take things from those that have actually worked to get those things.

By the way, although law enforcement these days is not particularly helpful in these situations, you still need to make a report of it. If the scum bags returned at a later date and there was some type of confrontation you would want a record that you had previously reported an incident. Plus you don't know that the police may not already have reports of similar incidents and have information on this theft group.

Or, if you find out who they are maybe we could get a Florida TRX posse to drive over and provide some constructive counseling to the wayward thieving souls. (to those few sensitive folks we have on the forum that is a joke😂 🤷‍♀️)

it sounds like car theft in Canada is on another level huh?

Haven't heard of that one. From a professional standpoint, I can tell you for at least iPhones, the best app for trackers that use BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) is Blue Hound. I believe there are some fairly stout apps on Android, but I'm not an Android guy. When scanning, be cognizant of the fact that these types of trackers do not transmit constantly. They pulse on and off to extend the life of the battery. The only reliable way to hunt these things, and cellular-based ones, is with special equipment. If you have a legit concern (not just routine scanning), contact a (credible) PI or police agency that is certified in TSCM operations.

Thefts up here are quite bad actually and it's not uncommon for thieves to make multiple attempts if they weren't successful the first time. I can say though that the thieves up here are pretty smart and professional. They don't destroy the living crap (smash, bash, rip, tear and flee) out of the trucks like I hear/read about them doing to you southern peeps. They actually break the least amount as possible and know how to properly unhook systems or pull certain fuses instead of destroying the interior to turn off the tracking. It's pretty sad that we have to go to such lengths to keep our hard earned belongings in our driveways. As for cameras, make sure they are hard wired, these pricks can block out wireless cameras like nothing.

Maybe think about installing a wireless driveway alarm. Would give you a bit of notice if someone started heading towards your house. Can be attached to a fence, tree or whatever. Reviews seem pretty good on Amazon. I looked into one a while back but never did order. There may be better ones available. Glad they didn't get your truck. Good luck .

Angelo, not sure how far along into your research you are, but I find this channel on youtube has the best reviews and discussions on security cameras I've found. https://www.youtube.com/@TheHookUp
Appreciate the link, he definitely has some great videos. I need 8 cameras to replace the crappy ones in the front of the house and I want to add 4 to the backyard so before dropping all that money on cameras I want to make sure they're worth it.

That a great and much cheaper alternative to a gate, I already agreed for them to come build the gate and I think the gate would be better. If we were asleep in this scenario, I don't think this would've been much help. Don't see a purpose to have them both but thanks for bringing that to light, didn't know these were a thing.

If anyone wants to steal my old TRX I can tell you every where it has been for the last six months. Left my AirTag in it and no one has removed it still.

Don't just go with cameras. They tell afterwards. Get proximity sensors. You'll know when they are coming before they get there or as they get there.

Real quick. I was told by the head honcho...if you see a stolen car...pull over and count to 60 and let it go...

Just so sad that this is what hard work and being a responsible person has led to these days. These idiots need to get a job and a real life. Nice to know that you retained your truck, even though your sense of security and justice may be shaken.

Or the uconnect. I’ve traded a bunch of cars and the first two took 6 months for the new owner to transfer the uconnect, now I cancel it immediately but otherwise on the app I knew everything that was going on.
