Core4x4 rear sway bar end link upgrade for Hellwig

Wasn’t really a fan of the cheesy end links or “fend for yourself” hardware situation you face when installing the Hellwig kit, so I looked into some upgrades. Found these Core4x4 end links you can get in any color and length based on your needs. They are grease-able which is a huge plus.

And best of all, they come with the right hardware from the start, so you don’t have to order different top bolts and spacers from the hardware stores, like you do when using the Hellwig links.

I ordered for 3” lift (which is 14.25” center to center) and that has the sway bar level. Obviously it may vary a bit truck to truck, and depending on what hole you use on the sway bar. So if you already have the sway bar installed you can measure your current links and order what’s closest. Not a must have upgrade, but I think it’s a huge improvement in quality, appearance, and serviceability for the $100.

Yep, for the top. They just push in and out.

I had them on my 1500 with the Hellwig bar andcthe Core rear track(panhard I think bar). Nice combo. The bolts and new sleeves for the drop links didnt match up at all but I called Core and they sent the correct set. The blue also looked sweet.

how has your hellwig held up? i've been considering it for a while. this combination looks a bit more solid. i've always thought the hellwig itself looked like a DIY home depot kit and had hoped for someone else to release a more solid looking sway bar kit.

About a month and a half ago @Johnny@JustBoltOns said something about Hellwig making a TRX specific kit. Wondering if that's still happening.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy with the handling now, and it’s been worth the trouble making these improvements to it. That being said, I see the price on the Hellwig has gone up $100 since I bought it. Add in these nicer links (and tax) and it’s a $600 mod. Even if you skip ’em and use the links that come with it, you’re still on your own to order the right bolts and spacers to install it. I don’t think it’s a good value for what you get.

Maybe the TRX specific part will address some of these concerns. Thought I saw someone post a “test sample” on the FB group, so I have to think it’s still coming.

Yeah the price increase was pretty BS, that plus the quality of the kit has what's prevented me from making the purchase. Hopefully we'll hear more about the TRX specific kit soon, otherwise I may do what you've done here just to have something. I'm putting down a lot of power and plan on continuing down that road and I know the improved handling would be worthwhile to anyone, myself included.

That's all Hellwig said. Perhaps it has other differences, but it sounded like the focus was to eliminate drilling, so they came up with a U-bolt attachment system (they have U-bolts systems for some of their other bars).

Nope, you should be good to go. My 2021 axle already had the provisions, and I was a fairly late build. They were ditched for 2022.

Hard to imagine they wont at least address the end link hardware issue at the same time for the TRX kit.

The standard starting size on their site is based off a normal (non-TRX) Ram. 11.25” center to center.

Since a stock TRX is taller, you have to order for a lifted Ram. I ordered for a 3” lift and that was perfect. Length is 14.25” center to center. If you already have the Hellwig installed you can measure your current links and order what’s closest because I would imagine it varies a little truck to truck.

Do you factor additional lift in from aftermarket springs? Ie, i have SCD springs which are 2" front and 1" rear lift. So would I order for a 4" lift adding the 1" of rear lift from my springs?

Yes, the 4” should (in theory) get you really close as the 3” lift ones are perfect for my stock TRX and you’d have another inch between the frame and axle.

Of course you can always mock up the adjustable ones and then measure them center to center to get it perfect. I’m sure there’s some variations in ride height between trucks as well as the difference in what hole you run in the sway bar.
