TRX Tyrant

Took delivery of my 2022 TRX Tyrant today at Granger Motors in Granger, IA. January 2022 order date (302913 VIN). Overall a positive experience. Some minor hiccups along the way but I left happy with the truck and experience. Drove home about 280 miles. The 55 mph suggestion for the first 100 miles was brutal! However, the truck ran flawlessly. 32 miles on the odometer at time of delivery. Unfortunately it was raining at the time of delivery but things appeared to be in good condition. I'll wash it up tomorrow and go over things closely. Significantly taller than my 2019 Raptor. One minor unexpected change in the 37 package....see if you can pick it up....

Yup......No Ridge Grapplers!
So what are the thoughts on Falken Wildpeaks vs Nitto Ridge Grapplers? They are willing to reimburse me to make the switch closer to home. Didn't get a clear answer from the sales staff why the switch was made but I am guessing cost and/or availability.

Looks great. No personal experience with the Wildpeaks, but when I was researching 37s for my Power Wagon, I had narrowed it down to the Wildpeaks and Mikey Thompson Baja Boss. The Wildpeaks were highly regarded by those who had them. My TRX was delivered before I upgraded the tires on the Power Wagon so it became a moot point.

If you drive in snowy conditions, I would stick w the Wildpeaks as they will be much better vs grapplers.

What are your impressions of the Tyrant package, tires rub at lock, power? Read somewhere that when you recalibrate the speedo for large tires the it messes up the back up sensors is that true?

I haven't done much with it yet other than drive it home. No rubbing. Now only about 300 miles on it so no launching or hard pulls yet. I'll try to keep everyone updated with the good and (hopefully not) the bad. I've done some reading about the Wildpeaks and Ridge Grapplers. AT vs Hybrid tire. Both seem to perform fairly well in most conditions. I just have never been a huge fan of Falken truck tires. I have had some Nittos in the past and thought they were good all-around performers. Maybe at some point put on BFG KM3s....have really liked those on the Raptor

Not necessarily my daily. Hunting rig, will drive more it more in the winter in SD. Prefer the MT/hybrid look but want something good in the snow. I have previously run the Toyo RT (also a hybrid) on a Tundra....that tire was awful in snow.

They were great until I did the survey and now no response on getting fenders replaced they are not only scratched but fading bad. There was paper bits all inside the fender flares

Wildpeaks are amazing. I'd take them over the ridge grapplers for sure.

For some reason the wheels seem more inset than in the photos that granger put out a few weeks back. Does the fender overhang, or are the wheels/tires flush?

I had the Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my Power Wagon for 25,000 miles before I traded it and now I've got Falken Wildpeak AT3/Ws on my 392 for about 5k miles both in 35x12.5r17. If anything is different at all so far, I'd say the Falkens might even be a tish quieter. But they're both great so far on and off road and in rain, haven't been through a winter with the Falkens yet but the Nittos had plenty of traction through 2 winters up here. I'd say you're just fine with the Falkens as long as you like the looks.

I ran ridge grapplers on my f350 and didn’t get great wear pattern, not a fan. Wild peaks on my jeep gladiator were nice, i only drove it a few thousand miles before switching to km3
