Other members posted this yesterday, but it's been buried in other threads. Since it affects so many trucks, I thought it deserved its own thread.

How can we find our part number on the driveshaft to confirm it matches?

I just read this thread today at work and sure as shit it on the way home she did it for the first time with almost 5k on her. Only did it once but you know it’s coming

Thanks for posting this info. I have an appt for mine to be addressed tomorrow at the dealer.

Just a heads up, the kits are pending until October 1st. Currently 744ish kits showing in the dealer system, I asked today what and if I can set up an appointment, they said no.. they said call ram, see if they will make a special exception and send a kit, but don't hold your breath.. perhaps someone can find away for us to get out kits. My truck has 1400 very easy miles and it's starting to feel the thump

This is good info. I’ve got Just over 11,000 miles on my truck and it’s noticeable.

Wait till you have to drive like a grandma for it not to happen. I did the same as you. Read the thread about this problem, with only 600 miles on it and that week it happened

Anyone know if the grease can be ordered by itself? Maybe it’s better than the Ford xg8 and will last longer than 4K miles between servicing on mine.

Still a little blown away that this is Rams permanent fix that engineering was working on for 18 months while they prohibited dealers from greasing the yoke. 🤦‍♂️

I’ll do it myself with the ford grease or whatever I can find if it starts doing it more. It is what it is and I’d rather spend and hour or two in the garage working on the truck then dropping it off at a dealer for a week and having them mess something up.

Exactly. I’ve had bad experiences with dealerships doing “basic” maintenance on my Challenger. They don’t give a CRAP about your vehicle!

If you decide to go the ford grease route, will you do a write up, so others know what there up against if they want to not wait for months for the dealer to band aid it

Thanks for the info and part numbers. Mines been doing this for a while. Been waiting for them to find a fix for it.

cool, I’m at 13k, been clunking ever since about 1300 miles

Maybe by the time I hit 20k miles, the UCONNECT5 will be stable enough to remember settings and not operate as slow as the first touch screen ever, steps in the positive direction here.

I have enjoyed random cold air coming out of my vents even though the system says the HVAC is off.

Sure. It’s only happened once so I’ll wait till it gets worse then jump in.
