……

Couple reasons. Main one being the same reason you see so many Montana plates in comifornia. Secondly, I’d prefer to talk to the person who actually owns the vehicle and been driving it if I’m spending 80 thousand dollars. Not some scum bag salesman who knows nothing. Then sit with the finance guy who tries to sell me snake oil for an hour cause that’s how he makes a commission.
As for the warranty, a warranty and the sales end of a dealership have nothing to do with each other. I have a good relationship with my local ram dealer so if I can get something under warranty even for a few thousand miles I can assure myself a better success rate at weeding out any issues that aren’t easily apparent at purchase.
Valid point . I hate that also. But I notice the last couple of cars I purchased they didnt try that on me maybe because as I walked in I told them right off the bat what car I am looking at, I am not here to haggle the price just give me the best price, I am willing to finance with you but this is the rate my bank is giving me so same or better. Give me call when everything is done and ready to be sign .

OP: I have a CA granite 2023 level 2, just happens to be in a montana llc already. 9000 miles, fully under factory warranty. Private party.

I was looking for a silver base model but have opened up my options. It’s getting tougher to find low mileage examples of any of these trucks let alone a base.

Looking to buy a 22 TRX in white. Must be lvl2, still under warranty and no title issues. I’m in the west coast but willing to travel for the right deal.
I have a 2021 lvl2, 43,00 miles, extended warranty, original owner. Located in California. Extremely clean.

Good luck with the search but you'll really limit yourself by not opening up to a dealer. There's nothing worse than selling a car and many people (especially in this price range) don't want to be bothered. Private party buyer financing is more difficult and the amount of tire kickers makes it not an enjoyable experience for a seller. Much easier to hand the keys to a dealer on a trade or consignment. Just come to the table with you're own financing and you negate dealing with that dept.

I’m paying cash. Or cashiers check or whatever works for the buyer. Easier for someone selling to deal with me than a slimy dealer.

That’s more than I want to spend currently.
Well shoot me an offer, there is a dealer markup for the consignment but the deal does not have to go through the dealership if that's what you prefer.

My offer isn’t realistic for what you have. I’d like to try and be around 80k otd. I’m in comifornia and would have to pay at least some taxes on stated purchase price. Add airfare and travel costs back and it doesn’t make sense. I think a 21/22 with about 30-40k on the clock is probably what my budget allows. If I’m stretching the budget anymore there’s one in TX with 2500 miles for 80 I’m kicking around.

Ok that's fair. Let me know if something changes. Good luck finding the right one.
