Anyone regret choosing black?

You will NEVER get the water from the side mirrors. I air compressed it for an hour, next morning a siiiiick water mark down both sides.
People all worried about driveline clunks and silly shit like that - we should be demanding a TSB for the mirror drips. I mean, it's a common enough problem that can be easily replicated. How do you get RamCares on the line here?

I wanted black. My wife talked me into the blue. I regret it. If the blue would have been unique to the TRX, it would have been great but it's the same color pattern they've been putting on the Rams for the last 10 years. Personally, I think black looks bad ass on this truck.

IMO black makes this truck look very mean 💪 but I might be wrong guy to ask 🤣 D2BAA25A-A667-452F-AA09-E16A44AD0BFA.jpeg0E45FB47-ADFB-4FD5-8901-7ECF64502770.jpegAD303E71-C50A-498B-ACB6-351EC5ACB165.jpeg47A61E33-DAD6-42DD-BE30-A7AEC6E5E9D0.jpeg

Beautiful truck! And those tires are massive which of course makes it look even more bad ass. How much lift did you end up doing?
Thanks 👍 ya I figured go big or go home 😎 almost 3 inches in front and 3/4 of an inch in the back. going to do springs in all 4 corners once a good company comes out with a 4-5 inch level lift spring kit compared to factory height.

I use vacuum cleaner with crevice tool at carwash. Also handy for hood vents etc. The car wash people hate me because it probably makes emptying the canister more difficult (but not impossible.) Tried the air nozzle but doesn’t compare to suction.

I know that many are choosing to invest significant $ in ceramic coatings, PPF, etc.
But for the guy who says I’m already spending 100 grand and think I’m gonna drive it as is…run it thru the carwash, take good care of it but not go overboard with TLC…is black a sensible choice?

Ceramic is a must
How do you feel about ceramic If one plans on weekly runs thru the touch carwash? Waste of money or still does some good?

Carwash not matter what kind will eventually kill the ceramic coating. My last ram was black murdered out. After owning it for four years im completely over black. The truck looks great for an hour. Winter snow and salt it looks like shit. Then comes pollen season I hope you like yellow and black. The only time of year black stays kind of clean is july till September if it doesnt rain. Im so happy I didn't get the TRX in black.

Ceramic coating doesn’t prevent scratches. With or without it, black paint is going to look like shit after running through a “touch” automatic wash a few times. And whatever you spent on the coating and paint correction will have been wasted anyway.

Lighter colors will be more forgiving, but I would stick to touchless only no matter what.

What’s a waste is the touch less car wash. Don’t dry it with any type of towel. You’ll just scratch the paint because all of the dirt wasn’t fully removed, kinda like wet sanding your paint. Your better off leaving it dirty and doing a regular two bucket wash when you can. Your paint will thank you!!

To me, touchless is way better than nothing if the alternative is leaving salt on the truck for months. Especially the underside. Obviously the point is to not touch it. I do the glass but that’s it. No reason to seek perfection when it’s barely cracking 20 degrees.

Agree with getting the salt off and not touching it. After that I use optimum no rinse.

@BCH I think you need to account for expectations in determining whether black is for you. Appreciate that there's a spectrum between sparkling clean and nasty, dirty. Where on that spectrum can you comfortably live? Maybe keep an eye out for black cars/trucks this week, assess how dirty they look, and whether or not that's too dirty for you. For me, a wash a week keeps my truck looking good enough for me. Being in Louisiana, you don't have to worry about snow and a fall/winter/spring of a constantly dirty truck.

I don't think ceramic is a waste if you're going to run it through touchless car washes. Ceramic has the same benefits either way - whether you wash it in an automatic car wash or wash it using a 9 bucket method, with soap extracted from Belgian monk foot sweat, a wash mitt made from their back hair, and while chanting Latin car cleaning mantras.
