Anyone regret choosing black?

This is after a year of ownership. It’s not difficult to keep the finish from getting scratched, etched, oxidized, or contaminated if you take a little time to learn about the process. But, red is pretty cool color as well. Either way, Congrats brother.
Magnificent shine! I am set on using my auto car wash. It's quick, convenient, and cleans pretty well actually. I wish I had a good gauge for how much defect it would do to a black finish. I'm not shooting for what I see in your photo...hat's off to that kind of dedication. I'm just not sure whether to expect minor impact or a total train wreck! lol My buddy owns the auto car wash I use. Think I'll go ask him how many black vehicles roll thru his place.

Wow! Your photo has my head spinning about black again. You captured it in some great light. Very very nice truck.
Totally agree about the 2-tone. Hard to get past it

My AMG was a auto carwash queen and after 30,000 miles, it looked great from 3ft away and was cleaner than 90% of all the cars on the road, at all times.

It didn't seem to hurt the trade in value at all.

Thanks! Yes, it gets compliments all the time -- when it's clean :)

Your solution if you need to use an auto wash is Xpel PPF. I have a buddy that wrapped his entire truck (black) and he runs it through the local wash every week and that truck always looks amazing.

I thought about doing it myself, but so far the 20 mins each week for a quick handwash is not killing me. This summer was brutal hot though, and I don't know how I'll feel come next Jun-Aug.

Here are some pictures after detail on mine and then driving around for 4 days. The pic of the T-rex is like a mirror. I have no idea what the 2 brown smudges are. I didn't even see them when I was taking the pictures.

I had no idea this thread was going. I just posted a 10K mile review and my only fault of the truck was washing the black... LOL.
I use a leaf blower and foam cannon and touch it as little as possible. Ceramic detailer is coming to my garage this winter as he is booked solid till Christmas.. I love black but it is a rough to keep clean!

Love the hood graphics. can you share where you got them?

I know that many are choosing to invest significant $ in ceramic coatings, PPF, etc.
But for the guy who says I’m already spending 100 grand and think I’m gonna drive it as is…run it thru the carwash, take good care of it but not go overboard with TLC…is black a sensible choice?
Color is such a subjective choice. There is no wrong answer. The only right answer is what you personally gravitate towards. I think white is the nicest color on a TRX.
In general black looks sexy on most cars. One thing is fact and is not up for any discussion. Black is the absolute hardest color to maintain looking nice on anything running on rubber.

I love black vehicles....but once and done for me in Texas. I had to park on top of a parking garage open to the SUN in Houston...(at the time, I had to drop oldest off at daycare and then head to work so roof parking only at that time)

On a 100F day in 200% humidity in August....even the best AC has a tough time keeping the BLACK vehicles cool.
when I am able to choose a color I go Silver.

I love black...had 4 mercedes in row black...all ceramic coated..which obviously helps a ton.. my previous Chevy truck also black....stopped ceramic coating everything that doesn't move...dont keep em long enough..went granite on my 21 power wagon...gawd so much easier to keep clean...but theres nothing like a dialed in black vehicle... period...just got a work a little harder...

I’ve always owned black cars. From Corvettes to Lambo’s, always black. Even my current Raptor is black. Like has been said, when clean and detailed, nothing beats it, but if it’s a daily driver, it doesn’t stay clean too often. So, what color did I order my 23 TRX in? White of course! I love the two tone white with the black!
