Geez, Mine was the only member build sheet Tuesday on my ‘22 and I received the window sticker Wednesday, now almost to the point of getting cold feet. If you’re tracking, there were no member TRXs build sheets Wednesday and no TRX build sheets what so ever Thursday, so mine was one of the last this week (so far). Now I read that the plant is in turmoil, disgruntled employees forced to work 3 months w/o normal leave, 7 days (12 hours each) on and 7 off. Parts shortages, employees sent home after the first hour 2 days in a row this week. Sounds like a horrible environment and that no one cares about quality.

Then all I see is more and more issues with recent builds, new truck with 110 miles dash lights up on the drive home, another with 5-6 significant issues, recent builds with oils leaks not corrected in 3+ attempts, Ramcares stating to take the truck back to the selling dealer (which will be 180 miles 1 way for me). Problems after problems with recent builds.

Absolutely not a comparison between vehicles/brands, my ‘19 Raptor has been the best, most fun DD I’ve had since I daily drove my first GT500 for 2 years in 1977/78 LOL. Raptor has 40k miles with very, very few issues, it’s about perfect and now I’m questioning whether I want to potentially leap into a shit pool right now.

Again, not a brand comparison, I know all the manufactures are struggling with build quality and service competency right now, but I’m seriously questioning whether I want to take any risk on any new truck right now. No way do I want to start this bullshit cycle of back and forth to service where no one cares, runaround after runaround, no loaner vehicles or me paying for weeks or months of loaners, etc..

I NEVER thought I would be in this position 6 months ago when I went down the new truck /TRX path, or when I ordered my loaded L2 11 weeks ago.

I know it will be a fun DD, but I’m worried about the built quality/service/parts availability right now. Am I too focused on all the bad right now and being myopic and overly paranoid?

Thanks
.

I just took delivery of an IE today and the passenger front fender flare is damaged, there is no spring release on my fuel cap and there is a small black spec on the orange paint on the rear fender. Not the best. But I hope that’s the extent of the issues. We shall see.

I’ve had a coolant leak and an oil leak both fixed in the first 4,000 miles of ownership. One was from a defective part and the other was from a loose sensor. Still a badass truck and I still would buy it all over again. For every issue posted there’s probably 100 trucks with zero issues whatsoever. If you buy it and it’s a problem child just sell it. You’ll still make money.

You can always sell the truck if you find its not living up but starting to see quality issues popping up in a lot of brands and yes people have had issues with the TRX, its still worth the fun. Been fortunate to have only a few small things the checklist caught early. Had a 2019 Raptor myself and as awesome of a truck the Raptor was, the TRX is another level. Do a good inspection of it upon arrival and then have fun with it.

For what it’s worth this is my 3rd TRX this year and both my hydro and black/wrapped red. The blue was built in march and the black was built in January. Black had more issues than any but that’s to be expected since it outnumbers the other colors. And I know it don’t matter what color it is.

Plant issues suck though. For sure these guys need to have time off and good pay. I’d love to work there if I were in MI.

For some it is the luck of the draw. I have had a few issues myself but at the end of the day this thing is bass ass and I accept the issues knowing they can be fixed. Other folks have been problem-free. You will always hear about the complaints more than successes regardless. Be patient, it is so worth it.

I think many of us are feeling the same frustrations! From build time, how random the build process is, the issues that seem to be getting worse in build quality, and now rumors of the team at the plant getting wore out and tired. It’s just a vehicle though, it’s going to hold value great for another 18 months due to supply issues that aren’t going away, and we are going to drive the shit out of it anyway. 😂😂😂. Get your truck and enjoy the positives, at the end of the day it’s just a truck.

If it makes you feel any better, even though your truck has a window sticker it may still be another 1-2 months before it shows up. Shipping has been a shit show lately it seems, many stuck in shipping yards for weeks/train issues etc. So you will have plenty of time to think about it at least.

Thanks Biden

Multiple articles here this week about the plant, I might suggest you read them. They are consistent with the lack of production this week and almost non-existent real time activity metrics on the production floor.

Thats unfortunate. My guess is that a high volume (sales) dealer might not want to get in the middle of this right now.

The sun rose this morning, I’m hopeful that everything will be fine and I’ll take the new truck and what it brings in stride.

Thanks all.....

Have your dealer go through this when it arrives:
This would definitely help with most of the issues people are seeing. Sucks though as most dealers will not do it. I can't blame the tech for not doing it since they don't get paid for it. Maybe pay the tech for an extra hour or two to go over the checklist.

I have TRX on order to be built on 12/8. Right now, I'm driving a '21 Limited Night Edition MSRP $75K that I paid $61,500 for with 0% financing. I see so many comments about issues w/the TRX, and then many for sale with less than 2K miles. Makes me wonder if it's buyers remorse, the novelty wore off, quality, etc. I love my limited, and really want a TRX, just don't want to make a mistake and regret it.

Not sure how many of you follow the 5th Gen forum, but I don't see any more issues with the TRX than I do with the other DT models. Yes, there are some horror stories on both sides. But overall, it's a very small percentage.
The factory has been working these extended hours for over 2 months and that phase is ending in 3 weeks, so there's nothing "new" about that.

Take delivery and do the check list yourself. It’s really not hard to do especially since the truck sits so high off the ground.

The bullshit thing is the dealership and ram ARE being paid to do this.
All of the things in the list are supposed to be QC approved at the plant or the dealer in the first place.

Again. This is a high end priced truck. We are not paying Toyota Tacoma pricing.

As I’ve said before, talk to folks who experienced the customer service when buying a bmw, Porsche, merc or other brand where the vehicle was 90-100k

The “we got your money… kick rocks” attitude of some dealers just sucks. The high volume dealers are making the highest profit off each truck due to volume and highest off each individual truck since it will not sit on the lot and is immediately sold.

So to say they won’t spend $25-50 (depending on where you live) on a tech’s book hour to make sure the truck isn’t a QC nightmare especially with KNOWN issues… that’s bullshit.

I previously asked @Zach@Granger if their guys do the checklist or if we needed to bribe them with something.
He responded that they pay their guys pretty good already to do the correct work.

That’s the answer I want to hear. Not saying I don’t want to bribe someone to take a closer look. But that they are already looking is good.
