**Who’s Running 40s??**

with 40” tires you definitely have better ground clearance, but look at those pictures of the guy on 40”s. UCAs are declined as hell. That means he hasn’t any space for suspension rebound, so it doesn’t work at all. Similar to walking on your toes . And of course CV failure will be something you will face quite often. So imho it is more for the appearance. Robby Woods is driving on 40s but it is completely different story with no OEM suspension parts at all

Truth! HOWEVER every guy that's on 40s in a Rex is on 20" wheels so airing down a 40 on 20s is probably no better than airing down a 38 on 18s. See how i did that math there?? haha. There's definitely better tire options out there for 20" wheels but I feel like i'm losing half of the benefits if i go to a bigger rim. The tires ive found weigh within 1 pound of my 38s so going to a bigger, heavier 20" rim will increase my unsprung weight which i really dont want to do unless i have to. PLus i want that extra sidewall
Would it be worth changing the brakes to the Rippa set up (only one I know of) so you can run a 17” wheel and have better tire choices?

Man that is a good point and def something to add to the cons list

That did cross my mind and would open up a world of options no doubt but i've seen 0 feedback from anyone and def dont wanna be the Ripa test dummy. Have you heard any feedback?

Off topic, but seeing how you have gone well over recommended gross weight and have seat time doing so... In a couple weeks I will be filling up a 132 gallon water bladder from my neighbors cabin/well 132G X 8.4lbs = ~1108 lbs of water in the truck bed that I need to transfer over at my place. How does your truck feel being overweight and do you see any concerns with this? I won't be on any public roads, just a gravel road from his place to mine for about .5 a mile.

We've been running 2-3k over payload on 4-diamond jeep trails at 13k elevation and all over the country and ur worried about carrying a water bag half a mile on a gravel road? Trust me - you'll be fine haha!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Although i will say those water bags are not very durable. We tried about 4 different kinds of similar looking bags and they sprung leaks just handling in the driveway. Giant Loops have been flawless through almost 10 trips now. Although they are much smaller bladders, they're built like tanks

I ran out of time this year since I am headed out to the cabin soon, just had to grab this on Amazon. Planning on getting a plastic rectangular tank that fits below the bed cover for next year. Something a little more robust lol. "You're gross weight makes me happy" The only time I've ever said that and never got slapped.

truth! Prolly no heavier Rex out there if i had to guess

Are people not snapping axles like crazy with bigger tires or mudding? Literally the first launch on pavement after putting on 37s with 2.6" coil lift my front CV grenaded. Been afraid to launch it ever since. Not sure how Mammoth guys get away with a similar lift and tire situation plus 40% more HP.

Did you have any aftermarket bumper up front or diff drop kit?

Yea true but putting in our bed is not feasible as we have too much gear when we camp & overland. Once we start bringing the 3rd kid + wife, we'll have to bring a trailer hitch cargo carrier or slap the Flated ontop of the roof tent haha.

Custom swing mount could be the ticket but man that would add some serious weight to a place that's already heavy AF

You need to buy a second TRX, for the wife to drive and split your cargo!

For anyone on the 2.7" front lift or the Geiser one, I'd def be running a diff drop. We blew both CVs within 10 days of putting that lift on. We were fine for like a year with the 1.6" front lift

Nope. I've got 37s with the Eibach 1.9" leveling springs up front, plus 10% lower, 3.10 upper, ported blower, custom CAI, and I've launched mine a good five or six times with all that and zero issues.

💯 diff drop made a big difference on just stock springs. To my view it looked straight. Once the 2.7 was installed the shaft looked slightly slanted. Almost how it sat stock.

The real test is when I get the 37” 90lb nitto ridge grappler installed.
