2027 TRX on order
I’m not a pick up truck guy. So a bit new to this.

My TRX came with the soft tonneau cover. It sucks. Thing just flaps around while driving and looks so janky.

I want a hard cover. Non powers. Open to retractable or trifold.

Secondly, I need a bed divider. Hate how things just roam around in there with no organization. The deck box looks cool but not a fan of losing all that depth if I ever need it.

Are there any good storage solutions or divider solutions for this bed? I found some but they can’t confirm if they work with a tonneau cover or with the non ram box beds.

What do you guys recommend for those two accessories?

If money is no object, take a look at EGR Rolltrac series - they have both a manual and electric version and are arguably some of the best quality tonneau covers in the industry.

For preventing things rolling around, I just use couple of expandable and movable bars cross car in the truck bed depending on size of my load. Prevents stuff from sliding back and forth. If you looking to stop sliding movement side to side for smaller items, I don’t have great solutions myself which are non permanent but a good Rubber mat like DeeZee has been working well for me.

Not being permanent is important to me personally so I can use full bed if needed. Otherwise, you can also look into installing molle panels on bed sides and chase / overlander rack if you don’t mind the added weight and the look.

That’s not a bad price at all. Saw another brand charging 2k for a manual one

You talking about Retrax Pro MX by any chance ? 😅
A friend of mine has the electric version of EGR Rolltrac on his 2023 TRX and highly recommends it so I’ll be getting that one when my TRX comes in but I presume the manual EGR one is just as good in terms of quality. Have heard positive reviews of EGR from custom truck body / lift kit shops as well but of course, no need to take my word for it. Definitely ask around. Let me know which one you decide on.

I currently have 2024 Ram limited with BAKflip MX4, been installed for 2 1/2 years, been very pleased with it, and has held up well.
I had a Roll and LOCK on a 2017 that worked well also, my only dislikes were the space it takes up at the front of the bed for the cover to roll into, and snow and or ice building up on the top can make opening difficult, since it does not like to roll well with that on it.
I have a 27 TRX on order (10-15-26) and I am debating the same choice, i like the idea of the power retractable cover, but worry about its use with snow and ice. The new BAKflip MX4 EZ-lift looks like it could be a good choice as well.

$945 more for the EGR electric 5' 7" box vs. 6' 4"? Interesting..
I had a Diamondback HD on the last ruck and loved it. Ill probably go with the SE this time.

Yes the retrax! Is that even a good company.

I have had mine for 4 almost 5 years now and no issues other than a dead remote battery this year. Got mine for $1,300 installed it's the Retrax Powertrax Pro XR. Really depends how you use your bed space with the canister type you loose up to a foot at the front.

anyone looking at the removable roller bed cover? You can remove the canister. I’m thinking about it. I’ve had a retrax in the past and it was good.

Yeah Retrax has historically been a very good product and company. American founded and covers made in USA hence the premium price tag I presume.

I actually have Retrax on my RHO right now - no issues except one time - some comms module chip started malfunctioning (cover would stutter while opening and closing) but they were very good with sending out a replacement right away, no questions asked and was a simple swap.

But since then I learned about EGR and I just liked the EGR electric tonneau features better - central locking with RAM fob, button on bed cover to open cover (so need to use remote), 4x drain pipes instead of just two in front on other covers etc. So this time on TRX, planning to go with EGR.

As far as cannister based retractable tonneau goes, Retrax and EGR are top choices in the industry as far as I know.

1300 ONLY - That tonneau is listed for 2500 minimum so no offense that sounds too good to be true or maybe is a typo unless you saying price has gone up 100% in just last 4-5 years for this tonneau 😅
I got the Powertrax Pro XR as well on my RHO right now and I would have driven across the country to get it for $1300 🤣

@kbkillerbee - This is one of the main reasons I will be swapping from Retrax over to EGR electric tonneau. I believe the EGR electeic Rolltrac tonneau actually has a manual “clutch” release lever which you can pull to then use the tonneau in completely manual push pull mode in case of emergencies.

And unlike Retrax or other electric tonneau covers, if EGR electric tonneau detects “excessive resistance” due to snow or ice accumulation between slats etc. motor will not function to protect it from over heating and failing. At this point, you can use it in manual mode mentioned above. Once snow thaws, you re-engage clutch lever, recalibrate the cover with couple of button presses and its back to full electric mode - so best of both worlds if all this actually works as they claim it does.

I know sounds too good to be true - I’ll let you know once I test it out 😅

My local dealership got it in for another customer with a regular 1500 who rejected it. Hence the deal I received. At the time they were going for about $2,300 and up way higher. So there was no way I was saying no to the cover I wanted at 1k off and installed. Did have to adjust their install as they had it set too far back and not fully square but that was the installer not the product. I was super lucky kind of like getting the promised Oracle tow mirror ditch lights noone else did. They claim those are finally going to be available this year we will see.🤣

@TRXMIKE - Wow that’s a great deal you got. And yeah I heard about Oracle - they been dragging their feet for a few years it seems - not sure if standard mirrors are even same size as 2024 models 😅

Anyways, I am not losing sleep over Oracle, I got the tow mirrors on my TRX anyways - since I am used to them now on my RHO. I like the larger convex mirror (only one I need to use they are that big 🤣) and look of the amber backlight on them in evening when they act as part of the marker lights setup.

Yes they have and for way too long! The new tow mirrors are very different not sure if Oracle has anything for them. Some like tow mirrors others don't is what it is. I do enjoy only being in dumbo mode when I choose.🤣

Post up that new TRX soon as you can. Looking into any mods yet? I would pull the Retrax off the other truck unless you are keeping it then I understand looking at other options.

@TRXMIKE - I don’t like the “concept” of tow mirrors and big AP blind spot and definitely don’t need them but I am used to it now and didn’t want to adjust to regular mirrors with TRX and I like to amber backlight on them so 🤷‍♂️

I will be trading in my RHO but don’t want to transfer the Retrax cover over, planning to get EGR Rolltrac for TRX. I am a bit OCD about new truck gets new stuff 😅 (probably why I won’t ever be truly wealthy if I keep making dumb decisions like this 😂)

Yeah planning a few mods - nothing crazy
1. Full XPEL PPF and XPEL Pro XR window tint
2. IGLA
3. Blackvue Elite 10 dashcam
4. Caliper painting Red
5. Electric Tonneau
6. Chase rack (yet to finalize)
7. Baja designs yellow fog lights
8. Diode Dynamics Rock lights
9. Baja designs chase lights after chase rack
10. Bed side molle panels

Truck is probably still 4-6 weeks out from me getting my hands on it - but yes, will definitely post pics once I get it.

That is a great starter list! You doing the 900 conversion when the kits become avaliable? That is what was most tempting to me on the 27s. Get the 900hp upgrade and keep the warranty. If they had dropped the DC1500 even though im not a fan of the new nanny would have definitely pulled the trigger on a second TRX. Still might if someone makes a good jailbreak and the right price comes along.

Not right away. I think 777 hp is enough for me in a truck. Might just get a Corvette in future for contrast and if I truly want to enjoy acceleration and top speed. But definitely curious to see what real world feedback is with Direct connection and may do it after a year or so accordingly.

Ive had bakflip mx tri folds on my last two trucks and have had zero issues. I’ll most likely get one for my 27 but will wait a couple weeks for the black friday deals. If the prices are really good, I might consider a Retrax but I dont like losing storage space from the canister in an allready small bed.
