Hey everyone, I recently picked up my 2027 TRX and, living in New England, I’m considering getting the truck undercoated to protect it from road salt and sand during the winter.

For those of you who have had your trucks undercoated, what has your experience been like? Which type did you go with—oil-based, wax-based, or polyurethane? Any recommendations or things to avoid?

I used fluid film on my other truck. Just the spray cans. It’s messy and my shop smelled like sheep for a week, but it seems to be holding up to the Wyoming winters pretty well. I’d tape off shocks and anything you don’t want overspray on.

I feel your pain. I deal with the same issues in the upper Midwest. I’m going with Feynlab Industrial Coating. It’s a clear industrial grade ceramic coating. It dries glossy and completely dry to the touch. It’s been used for years on oil rigs and heavy machinery, etc. Not cheap, but neither is a new truck. $2400 for a new TRX. What I really like is the undercarriage will still have that showroom look when it’s done. I wasn’t too excited to coat my brand new undercarriage with fluid film or wool wax. https://www.feynlab.com/product/industrial/
