I had 12 on mine and honestly, followed break in somewhat. I didn't constantly do full-throttle launches or accelerations but I was driving at highway speeds from the hospital my son was born in for about 30 mins home. Also, after 100 miles I drove a little harder, after 300 I drove a little harder with some WOT accelerations, and I'm 14 miles away from 500.
I tell you all this cause I'm not afraid of them voiding the warranty when a break-in is listed as RECOMMENDED. Nowhere does it say you MUST follow or your warranty will be voided. There's a lot of fear spread around this forum. That said if you're hammering the thing from day one, launches, racing, etc and there's an issue, good luck. There's a BIG difference between what I did and the latter. Remember, the engines are ran on an engine dyno before install. The break-in is listed so people don't get right in and hammer the thing before the rest of the truck is ready for it.
