Twin-Turbo Hurricane Straight-Six Will Have Over 520 HP

Ok. Now drop a V8 in its place and we have a deal, Dodge.
yea for sure, but that wont happen. the active theory is by 2030 we might see a modern hemi back, after stellantis has cached in on "EV" credits for the next 5 years. Im never selling mine, and my challenger is a beautiful car, i see you have one, i love their styling. The modern charger doesnt do it for me, but im interested to see what itll look like.

Some people underestimate the part sound plays in performance vehicles. I was told I was stupid for keeping my Gen1 Raptor when Gen2/3’s were “superior in every single way.” Best decision I ever made was not buying one and holding onto my G1, which is now parked next to my TRX.
Good move hanging on to your Gen 1. I had a Gen 1 for 8 years and finally sold it to get a 2020 Gen 2 since I wanted to get an updated version and thought I could live with the V6 sound. Wrong, I was never happy with it because of the exhaust sound. It didn't help that I had sold my Gen 1 to my son so every time he came over it reminded me of the difference in the sound. Fortunately Ram came along with the TRX and saved me from the V6 exhaust sound hell. 😂

If they can do this with a V6 what can they do with the same technology in a V8? I think in the long run we will be impressed. But only time will tell. I’m open to the RHO if the price is right and everything is upgraded only downgrade is motor I might be interested.

Be sure to follow the news & updates @

I am hoping that this inline 6 is merely a gap while they develop a new V8 with forced induction. I have heard some videos of the inline 6, it sounds like a lawnmower, as does the Raptor 6 cylinder. I hope they update the front grill as well, the black plastic is just ugly. However, if they dont come out with a V8 again, I guess all of us with the V8 will see a price increase. But being they discontinued the hellcat, I can't see them creating a new V8 for the truck. IMO its quite embarrassing to have the TRX eating a Raptor under the hood and then in 2025 they castrate the TRX and the Raptor adds more power.

If you watch some of Butter's videos, he has info that they are developing a twin turbo V8 (probably a couple years from now before it is out).

I see they released pricing for 2025, and the Tungsten trim 1500 is just shy of $90k not counting any additional options. I wonder if that means the RHO (no pricing announced yet) will be $100k-ish, same as our current Hellcat TRXs, as others here predicted.

If the pricing is that high they will still be sitting on trucks a long time. I’m seeing 15-20k off msrp at alot of dealerships. Max Haik is adding $10k to TRX’s

Reminds me of the old saying:
“Quality, Speed, Price – pick two.”
Thats for modifying.

This is a factory build.
I'm pretty sure FCA group has that Hurricane that can make 550-600hp reliably. Its a twin turbo I6 and they wanted to build a Factory Stock car based on that architecture.

Tungsten is the luxury cruising truck.
RHO should be the sport truck gunning for the Raptor.

Raptors are 450hp, 5750lbs, and 77k starting MSRP.
RHO should be 550-600hp, 5700lbs, and 75k or less MSRP.

If they want to be in competition with Ford, then compete! Pricing the RHO at 90k like the TRX would be the recipe for disaster to me.
But Sergio is long dead and Stellantis seems clueless. I guess we will see.

If 6 cylinder is my only option in the future, I'm going back to Ford after this truck. Or a Chevy with fiberglass fenders.
You do realize TRX front fenders are fiberglass right?

I've been looking at new 1/2 tons for my wife and GM is the only one with anything of interest for 2024. the only thing holding me back on buying her a ZR2 with a 6.2 is the numerous complaints with peeling paint from customers.

Ford only offers the 5.0 V8 in the Temor and XLT trim. both are boring and that's the only V8.

Ram still offers the 5.7 in the Rebel, but owning a TRX that would be a total joke to own.

So if you want a V8 better buy soon, and it will probably be your last.

It's not really the material I'm talking about. Since Chevy doesn't offer a truck with larger flared out fenders (like the TRX or Raptor), if i were to build a Chevy I would have to run aftermarket fenders. For example these Fiberwerx fenders. (Obviously there is a lot more work here than just fenders)
