Trx incoming. Ordering parts

I agree that is definitely an issue. I've had the Blackvue before and loved it, it was just time to try something different and so far I've ben impressed with the OwlCam despite it's size and LCD display which you can set to be off while you drive. Only comes on with impact (or what it thinks feels like an impact) primarily.

Two way talking feature is neat especially as a further deterrent if someone's already inside debating on stealing it. Instantly saved video clips to the cloud are plus in scenarios like this.

Worst case scenario, if the vehicle is stolen and camera is not retrieved, they will replace it at no cost.
In a 2 camera setup. Where would ypu mount them? Dash and rear seat?

So my trx should be here week after next.
I’m ordering parts for it.

ordered a tonneau cover from @Johnny@JustBoltOns

about to order a blackvue dashcam system.

truck comes with running boards but may swap for mopar electric. Stupid question but you can’t do both right? So the power step comes out under the running board?

not putting in radar for now nor any performance mods.

going to wait on wheels until I feel out the brakes and then probably only if someone comes out with brake kit.

what am I forgetting?

IMHO radar almost a must.

Stereo upgrade (JL Stealthbox supposedly fits)

I'll eventually color match the bottom to the top as I'm not a big fan of two tone vehicles.

Levelling or lift.

Bumper/winch (if you plan to do some real off-roading)

air compressor (if you plan to off-road - I'll probably go with an ARB if I can find a place in the engine bay to install - otherwise portable)

I’m only going to color match if I go color change wrap. Stereo going to leave as is for a bit. The HK should be enough to start.

the rake doesn’t bother me but may do a leveling kit if it is better functionality.

bumpers/winch is on the menu once someone makes a good one. I may do an air compressor/generator in the bed.

So far so good, but like I said, it’s cheap Chinese crap. By the time I start the truck and close the garage door it’s connected and picking up where my phone left off. I could probably plug it into the second port and hide the cord better. With Amazon you can always send it back without hassle.

And if I do radar, will probably get an escort system.

I haven’t done the 2nd one yet but was debating mounting one behind the rear driver side headrest just haven’t decided on it yet.

I have an escort 360 Max and it works very well, it's saved my ass too many times to count. I really like the directional indicator; I've heard someone say that this was a gimmick, but I totally disagree; there is a lot of utility in knowing whether popo in front or in back of ya. I've actually had them correctly indicating both directions before, which is awesome; normally you'd see the cruiser and think you're all clear even tho the thing is still blaring at you, hit the gas only to see another cruiser a quarter mile down the road.

I remember years ago when I bought my first radar detector, can't even remember the brand, but there were two nearly identical units displayed right next to each other; the only visible difference to my inexperienced eyes was the price; one was like $250 and the other was like $600. I asked the salesman, "What's the difference?" He replied, "About 3 seconds." I thought a minute and then said "I'll take the $600 one."

I really like my Radenso....I'm relatively rural, so have pretty good range before a state or sheriff radar chimes in.....but its good in the high trafgic and city areas as well. I want to eventually have a direct wire into the rear view.....but am content with the uppper dash plug for now. I can't stress how many times the radar had saved me!!! You are going to want one even if you can't hardwire it yet Bambi!!! So worth it brother!!!!! Cheers!

Blend mount mounted, Escort 360 Max hard wired in. In every one of my vehicles, wouldn’t leave home with out it.
I’ve always done this on sportscars but was doing felony speeds(in mexico). Not sure it’s worth the 7k in a truck

Same, all my vehicles as well, even the little 90 hp 914 lol. I'm hoping the blend mount will work for my LE as well; I believe I saw a post confirming this. Trick will be finding the accessory wire in the rearview harness to tap. Have you figured this out yet?

Escort radars are $400 to $600, blend mount around $120. I wire it myself with a phone cord. Got one speeding ticket in 10 years cause the cop was good at his job. Told him that and he ate it up. Got off with a $65 ticket. I’ve had Escort radars forever, so I’ve learned to drive with them. Music not loud, just waiting for it to alert me to slow down and look for him.

Under the sunglass/ sunroof control panel. You have a power and ground on the bigger gauge hardness that plugs into the controls. Supper easy, just make sure to pinch the two tabs in the sunglass holder. There is two screws plus tabs in there.

One more trick I did on the install. I didn’t have pull the trim off around the rear view mirror. I was able to fish the cord all the way up there. Made the install supper fast also.
