Extended warranty won’t cover dash! My warranty went out in May dash came up in June I have max care. It’s not covered. Any comments on convincing the dealer to help out on the cost. Max care wouldn’t.

I would take to a good custom automotive upholstery shop, they would be able to match it and have it done correctly. I would imagine would be around 1k. I had the same issue on my M5 and have a local guy who did my whole leather dash for just over 1k and looked like new. BMW wanted 4,500 to do it.

I have a launch edition that I bought from Florida. I had to replace the dash, both front door panels and my steering wheel all from leather defects. All covered under warranty.

How did you get them to cover it. Or better yet how do I go about telling my service department to cover the leather of my truck that I feel isn't wearing correctly. Thanks man

I simply showed them the defects and they took photos of the bubbles and other defects on it and pretty much approved it the same day. I recently went back to have them look at the new steering wheel they had replaced months ago because the alcantera had a bubble in it and they approved it in minutes to be replaced. But I'm still waiting for the new wheel to come in. All easy transactions.

That makes perfect sense! Have you noticed excessive wear in your driver seat? Does this look excessive for 25k mi? Or is my ass too fat? Lol it looks off to me And I don't know if the picture does it justice.

Mine doesn't look like that but I only have 20k miles. I would have them look at it, maybe you'll get new leather under the warranty as well. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Any possible solution to avoid this (without moving from Florida )?

I had a ceramic clear coat installed on my windshield to combat the effects of direct sunlight and heat build up on the dash when parked. So far so good during the summer heat.
