Did you follow the break in process?

No seriously, that sucks.

That's sad Samsaid, but also yet another example of why I trailer my vehicles home, then put them on the lift to check things before driving them.

Plus it allows me to fill things up to correct levels, install magnetic level plugs, and break the gears in correctly.

Yes, (except for gear break-in) we shouldn't have to worry about things like that, but then there's real life.

Well, did you enjoy the 50 miles at least??

All kidding aside, that sucks. I drove my first one home (2,300 miles) back in 2021. It took a sh!t 1/4 mile from my home. I launched it. I shouldn’t have. It was in the shop for two weeks.

You can gripe/complain only if you paid $100k+. Otherwise you got what you paid for.

Kidding obviously, sorry to hear about what you have to deal with.

I paid sticker price

Dang, sorry to hear this. I hope it is damage free and all fixed up ASAP.

Do you think the transmission got damaged?
As long as you noticed right away you’ll be fine.

Driving with the transmission with low pressure you would have heard the pump starving. The truck will go into limp mode to protect the transmission.

Driving it for a while would definitely cause damage though.

This happen to me after the mechanic forgot to push the line all the way in. I was 10 blocks away from my home when the transmission oil shot out on to the underside of the hood.

I decided to still drive it since I was close by. But I drove it very slowly and made sure not to shift at all.

Once home I simply refilled the transmission (lost 5 quarts) and pushed the line back in till I heard the click. Luckily all was well even after changing the filter.(no metal shaving)
