So the one thing I don’t have in the truck that I’ve given a lot of thought to is Traction Boards. After watching the Raptor R video below, I think it’s something I need to buy. I’m looking at the following setup but wondering what others think?

Traction Boards:

Stuck Raptor R:

I've used them before to help pull a truck out of deep sand that was burried to the axel. I probably could have pulled them out without the boards but since I had them it was even easier.

I have something like this but don't remember what brand.

Thank you for the link. I’m looking at these too.

Those look good and they are cheaper too! I don't think you can go wrong either way.

The generic ones are fine, but they are great to have. Just don’t throttle whenusing them. I see a lot of people ruin theirs by doing that.

We always use maxtrax. They work great in Baja.

ARB, Maxtrax and Smith Smitybuilt are all popular. I have never been in a situation where they would have helped much. A winch is much better.

If I was around sand, I would have them.

Extreme or MKII?
I actually didn’t know there were different versions. Just looked, MKII. We don’t need them often but they are clutch in sand, silt, mud, etc

Thanks for the info. I think the Maxtrax is the answer. Now I need to figure out the best way to store them in the bed. Maybe something like this:

I have this one and it attaches without having to drill holes in the bed. The one you linked would definitely carry more weight.

You could store them above the bed but then you’d run the risk of people thinking your TRX is just a big Tacoma. Every Tacoma in my area has these for some reason. They’re all decked out like prospector xls.

I like this a lot!

I wonder, can you store two Traction Boards to it? It kind of looks like they just have one on the website.

These guys might have a mounting solution.

Ended up ordering the Putco Bulkhead Molle and the Maxtrax. I’ll post pictures when everything is delivered and installed.
