Super quiet, am I missing something here (I was biased so my bad)

Got my new TRX and I am shocked its so quiet. I put in Sport Mode, anything I am missing?

Yes, you're missing Borla.

If OP thinks stock is to quiet, don't recommend AWE which is more quiet than stock, most of the time you are driving.

Yea it’s pretty dang rowdy for a stock exhaust. Aside from the cats, it’s basically straight piped all the way back. Those little mufflers don’t do a whole lot. Exhaust is normally the first thing I mod on a truck. I didn’t feel the need to do so on the TRX

I know we don’t agree on sound but this being my 4th TRX, there is no way AWE is quieter than stock in any driving situation. We can debate what sounds good to our ear between systems but there’s no debate here- confirmed by my wife who is not a car person, “This truck sounds way better and louder, deeper than your others”

I personally don’t see a need for wasting money on a full exhaust when the SLP loudmouth’s are so damn good sounding on this truck.

Actual numbers by one forum member, while maybe not the most accurate device to test sound, the same device appears to have been used on stock vs AWE, 91dbs vs 104dbs, with AWE being +13 over stock.

Money well spent! I had this installed last week and the sound is incredible. I have a before and after of a cold start. The video doesn’t do it justice, I’d say it’s 15-20% louder than stock at start up and idle, but it’s a different animal WOT. The H pipe gives it a really deep muscle car...

Interesting, thanks. I'm the original owner of a 21 here and quiet is not how I would describe it!

I’ve actually thought about time or two I’d like to have Fords active exhaust where you can put the exhaust into a “quiet mode.” Not all the time, but there are times it would be nice for a quieter ride.

You'd have to call Fabspeed. Although, the trucks are exactly the same as far as drivetrain (mechanically).

Got the Borla Atak installed yesterday! LOVE IT
I will say I am likely off when I say quiet as stock. I realized I came from my Raptor R which had an epic exhaust, so I think my expectations had been off. Either way, Borla Atak hits the spot for me!
Before installing the Borla Atak at the shop we gave the stock exhaust some revs and once Borla put on, BIG difference

I remember when Borla was developing this exhaust for the TRX back in 21.
Took forever it to become available.
Big difference from stock
