Is there a way to get a status code update that does not involve bugging my sales rep? They are juggling a lot of vehicles and I don't want to bother them every day

They do give status codes if you read between the lines...
Plenty of people have posted the screenshots from RamChat and we can tell you what status code it is

Just check in with Ramchat every Wednesday and see what script they give you. Once they say "Your parts have been gathered," thats D1 and you'll built in 2 weeks. Your dealer will be able to give you a ship date soon afterwards. Subtract 2 days from that date and that is the day your TRX will be built.

I was hoping for an exact status like KZ etc. I have noticed some people know their truck is on rail to a given city in a certain status.

You can do the same thing still. They'll tell you if your truck is in storage or has been shipped. Once it's past KZ, only the dealer knows ramp ETA's for each stop along its route to the dealer
