S&B Intake - Dry or Oiled

Which did you choose? Also read somewhere that the oiled has a louder whine because of the fabric used. S&B has the dry in stock and the oiled is 2 months delayed. Wondering if I should wait.

Sounds like cope. If you want whine go with a Bwoody or JMB.

I ran a dry for about a year and it was great, no issues but I was getting close to the end of the dry units life, and I've been waiting for months for S&B to restock. I just swapped over to an oiled unit, pretty happy with it so far. I was initially team dry, because i didn't want to deal with the cleanup+prep, but it's not that bad. Red also looks cooler.

Difference in sounds between Oil/Dry is negligible. both are a substantial bump from stock, but you are looking at 120% vs 119%, not really a enough to move the needle between which you choose.

If you end up going with the oil version, i recommend either getting a second filter or a dry filter, it takes about 24 hours to finish the clean+re-oil.

Does anyone know if the aftermarket cold air intakes help the 2027 TRXs? It seems like that was one area that Ram used to boost the hp for the 2027.
I’m just curious if there is actually anything to gain or if my money is better used in other places?

100% agree. Get a 2nd filter so you have 0 downtime between changes

What is the mileage recommendation between filter replacement/cleaning? I understand mileage may vary based on where your driving, so I'll keep the question based on normal street driving environments.

Dont think you'll see much difference there either way. As it from factory should be good enough.
The 2027s basically have the same aftermarket options shape and position in the engine bay while keeping the cold air coming from the hood scoop which is nice.
I dont know how the SC whine is because the tubes of the aftermarket intakes are aluminum vs plastic on the stock one.
The aluminum resonates the whine loud
