Seems to be a lot of talk and questions about towing. All loads are different so this is just my actual experience with a 1200 mile tow.

2021 TRX / Stock. 35x12.50 22 toyo OC AT3
2022 16x17x7 HD interstate V nose enclosed
2600 pounds dry
Loaded for trip EST 2900
Total weight 5000-5500 pounds
Top of the line WDH
Load contents: My parents 4 bed home with no appliances.
1215 miles Michigan to Florida.
Average temp 45-65
Rain first 500 miles.

So, real world towning. First and foremost, this thing will bounce you all over the place with a heavy load in a enclosed trailer without the use of a WDH. It had far to much sag with my personal load. Drove 75 miles, and pulled off and had the WDH installed. It was like driving a slammed F150 on 26s before the install LOL.

After install, ride was decent. Truck pulled fairly well but did show signs of looking for gears up and down 75 through TN and KY. Tried both tow mode and normal mode. Felt far better in normal mode. Downshifts in tow was like it was in sport. Didn’t care for that at all. Passing gear was ok, but really had to put your foot in it to get where you needed to go. I was actually surprised by that. My 2021 Ram 1500 limited acurally towed better with more weight all the way around. Did the same trip in that truck with my 6000 pound boat last summer.

Gas mileage average 6.7-7.6 was best.
Average speed 72

Over 75 you started to get sway. This mostly due to my trailer being a foot taller then the non extended height series, I’m sure.

Loaded; the back with 2.7 inches lower then the front w/out the hitch. After hitch install, very little weight in bed, and 400 pounds with me, passenger and a few bags, the rear was 1.4 lower then front.

Hope this helps guys. Here is a few pics!

Good to know. I plan to take my boat to FL this summer from KY
The Mtns in Tenn are definitely a challenge for anyone towing something heavy let alone a race/Baja truck

Thanks for sharing. Have had similar experience with my Raptors over the years. I towed a 20' enclosed Pace bulletnose and it was all over the place without a WD hitch. Night and day difference

Can you post details of the weight distribution hitch? I have a EZ Hauler UTV 14ft (6.5ft high) V nose enclosed trailer and am looking to add WDH to it. Not sure enough room to add as I think you need 26-30” of length between hitch ball and the anchors.

also, can you measure drop required?

My setup will be around 5k lbs loaded with motorcycles in Vnose

thanks
