Ram TRX Tuning Question.

I got a street tune quote for my 2022 TRX. I was wondering if this is worth it?

I mean you don’t need a tune for your mods, the trans tune will be very noticeable.
Me personally, I wouldn’t tune it unless it’s necessary for the mods. Better off doing a pulley and injectors while your at it
 
I agree with @Louk, for your mods the tune would not really be worth it. I would confirm that the cost also includes the transmission tune as it only states PCM and not shift points.

Agreed, i would also go with a reputable tuner who knows the platform well. I used Dusterhoff and highly suggest him.

I have Kooks headers that I need to install and plan a cat delete
 
Longtubes require a tune. If you are tuning and ditching any warranty then may as well do the standard pump gas setup with the 2.85 upper (or 10% lower) and ID1050 injectors. Add the 180 deg tstat. Tune once for everything. +infinity for Dusterhoff.

Note: Plenty of e85 in Austin. I would do Dusterhoffs flex tune setup (937 package). Extra 80-100hp on e85.
 
Does the price include tuning for headers?
I have SW long tubes with green cats and other mods tuned by dusterhoff as well

You data log what they ask you “normal driving” “pull from 20-80mph” “1st-5th gear pull” etc.. they send you any necessary revisions
Very straightforward

For the suspension height recalibrate issue. They put that there because some trucks got this error in the past after being tuned. Plenty of trucks do not get this error. Mine did not.

Pretty easy to put together a package and have someone install it for ya and then get it tuned by Dusterhoff remotely etc.

Wragth Motorsports isn't too far from ya down there and they seem to have a good following.

There's plenty of options out there depending which route you want to go.

I can install all the parts in my warehouse, I might go the Dusterhoff route, seems like everyone vettes for them. Not sure if I asked already but does he also remote unlock the PCM? I'm currently running 1.6 eibach springs with 35's nothing crazy

You mail your pcm out to hp tuners, they give full instructions on address to mail to, the unlock price is included in the package.

That was the longest part, waiting for hp tuners to ship back. Mine took about 2 ish weeks for it to get back to me.
 
I went with Dusterhoff tuning as well. My kit from them comes in tomorrow. Plan is to pull my stock file right away, send it off to them, and then pull my ECM from the truck and mail it off as well the same day. As soon as i get the ECM back and installed the truck is going in to have some 2X3 long tube kooks headers, catless connection pipes, gt haus valved exhaust, and upgraded thermostat installed to go with its CAI and FAS lower pulley.

Curious to hear you experience with the Kooks quality and how the sounds is on that exhaust setup.

Hopefully by the end I next week I will be able to give you solid review. I had Kooks 2X3 long tubes on my 15 ZL1 with QTP cutouts right after them and no cats. Loved the setup, I could set off car alarms at will LOL
