Ram Announcement June 8, 2025

Does the RHO picture really bother you that much?

I was so bothered by seeing it here I ripped out the telematics box before I got the update. The RHO showing for me is like buying a Lamborghini and them displaying a Hyundai on the screen. I hate that the RHO even resembles the TRX. Haha

Actually it would be more like buying a Lamborghini only to find Audi badges on everything… wait that already happens in real life 😂🤣
From watching mat Armstrong do his builds it’s crazy how little Lamborghini actually does and how much Audi it uses for the entire vehicle

Probably why they run better now.

As a pilot I do appreciate the talk of airplanes on here! I had no idea a Hemi was used for aviation use.

I honestly don't care what the announcement is. I'm happy with the TRX I have and the Durango SRT my wife has. Makes it even better now knowing they were inspired from or have inspired aviation advancements.

To add, how about a Hemi TRX Sonic Boom or Shockwave. Hemi farts are a fun way to wake up your neighbors. How about Sonic Booms or shockwaves! Louder the better and I tell those who complain... It is the sound of freedom!

"Proven" parts bin already exists...

....Trackhawk/TRX AWD set-up, different driving modes - adjusting transmission shift points and suspension.

IMO - a NEW performance production 'Sport Truck' pick-up needs...(and secondary benefits and market thoughts)
  • AWD to be a contender.
  • Manufacturer power upgrades that maintain the factory warranty if Dealer installed <- which helps customer 'Intent to Return'/ability to finance such mods and/or intertwine them with their purchase/lease payments.
  • Ability to get this package with lower trim/entry price (similar to the Power Wagon Tradesman to Laramie, Bronco and 35" tires/lower gearing Sasquatch option).
  • Appeal and ease for aftermarket companies to also offer products for consumers. Although a relatively small company - the Grenadier SUV (and Pick-up) at the recent Overland West/Flagstaff event were most common among the 400+ Vendors accessorizing them. This leads to product sales. I remember at SEMA many years ago - Ford and other manufacturer displays giving out CDs with frame specs measurements/etc. to 'assist' such offerings. It's frustrating that our TRX is no where near the robust Raptor market with endless suspension to 'Bespoke'/turn-key build choices and related specialty shops (and never will be). It was a 'Proof of Life' seeing dozens of outfitted/customized Grenadiers, the groundwork for a successful legacy/consumer base - well beyond Jeep and Broncos being showcased. FACT: Consumers like to make their vehicle 'their own'... Manufacturers need to endorse this synergy. My factory ordered 2013 Jeep Rubicon was honestly crudely built and crap (even with the 'then new' 3.6 engine). However the ability to modify it was endless and appealing/fueled my purchase decision.
  • Standard and Crew Cab platforms: FACT: consumers like to carry passengers and 'stuff'. <- I LOVE the Dodge Challenger proportions but the Charger is overwhelmingly the default choice with 4drs (and three kids). However unsightly/less 'pure' than a standard cab...to move units and realistic day to day use. The Ford Raptor was available in arguably a better handling/less weight XCab but that accounted for a small % of sales. To quote Kyle Rittenhouse and his Court mentioned social media moniker "Four Doors More Whores" = TRUTH.
  • Proven powertrain parts from past performance models (SRT/Trackhawk/TRX) - aka DON'T REINVENT THE WHEEL! USE THE PROVEN + EXISTING WHEEL!
  • Continued... -> Transmissions/engines that can support significant power upgrades: Can't afford upon release (ahem RHO/Hurricane engine) to quickly dilute momentum with newfound software to overheating issues...often during the first few thousand miles of consumer or influential YT'ber coverage. RAM/Stellantis can't afford another EV Charger debacle (bricking/production halts) while promoting the 2026 RAM REV release under this 'dark cloud'. ***Heading to my favorite Dealership in the am for an oil change, Service Advisor discreetly commented how booked up they are (week behind) just in diagnosing reported problems with their new models!!!***
  • Ability to use the bed for 'truck' duties/daily life: Not be so specialized and "HALO"/low production- that it loses 'Usability' (or come with a difficult to remove/full color matched bed cover). Instead use a color matched tri-fold cover that is removable/far less weight too. Usability includes ability to tow realistic weekend items (UTVs/Jet Skis, etc).
  • Homage versions available, paying tribute/bringing back memories: Lil' Red Wagon version, retro OEM color offerings, etc. We've seen this work with Ford - from Mustangs (GT350, Hertz rental - black/gold, etc) to Heritage Bronco versions (white grille/all white 'faux steelie' wheels, badging, etc).
  • Performance that 'surprises' reviewers... "very UN-truck like": Brakes and cooling that can endure multiple hard laps (premiere to the Motor Press on tracks like Laguna Seca to Nurburgring). The total package of straight line/cornering performance intermixed with refinement and ability to comfortably cross country. Have disguised' test Mules running laps, hell.. set landmark track records for production pick-ups too. Track time/efforts testing at the arduous Nurburgring amplifies the seriousness of the Manufacturer.
  • New 'Cross Over' customers (Brand + Vehicle Type): Win over new customers, aka 'Conquests' to the RAM brand from GM/Ford/etc. - Those whose driveways include SUVs but don't want to sacrifice the ease of entry/egress/interior space having to compromise with a coupe or sedan for true performance. <- Remembering the BMW 5-series I rented from SIXT and comically how miserable it was to simply get in/out - somehow twice hitting my head on the roof like an idiot - so familiar with trucks/SUV that it felt cramped/oddly uncomfortable 'low' position for viewing the road! F! maybe I'm getting old?! :ROFLMAO:
  • All Season ability (Usability), even optional Winter wheel packages: Offer different tire compounds for those in four season areas including Snow mode/similar for all year use. Offer affordable 'Winter Wheel & Tire' packages (Bridgestone Blizzak/similar) - available from the Dealer (gets consumers back to showroom) for swapping out. My Parents SAAB (Top 10) dealer in NH (they had a 900s ) did this including Dealer storage of Summer wheel set (as home/condo storage for some owners is a PITA). Was easy to upsell oil changes, spring alignment, etc. when it was time to swap on the OEM Performance wheels in the Spring. Consumers were happy, this simple offering created repeat customers and well monetized. At $$$ trade-in the OEM wheels didn't reflect harsh New England winters/salt, probably offset the Winter wheel package cost.

New I6 diesel and gas V8? Lol

Yellow Jacket sport truck with a supercharged Hemi that runs on diesel?

I wonder if they’d come out with a hybrid or electric truck version called the Ram Thunderbolt, a knock on Ford’s Lightning.

Bringing the Cummins 6.7 gas engine over to the 3/4 ton/1 ton trucks maybe?
Maybe they are bringing out a super hornet(since hornet is already used), like the F/A18 E/F super hornet

Does the idea of a “sport truck” really make any sense? How well did the Ram SRT-10 sell? I could be wrong, but I don’t see that being a huge success.

We officially know the 5.7L is back for the Ram 1500 (no shock).

I'm guessing for June 8th we'll see the following:
  1. New TRX for 2026
  2. Street Truck with the Hellcat Motor

I think so too. I’m glad they got the 5.7 out of the way because it would’ve been a huge letdown if that was the big announcement.

I like the idea of RAM offering something for every kind of truck buyer. A single cab sport truck, like the old Ford Lightning would be awesome. I'm not sure I would buy one, but it would definitely be a blast to drive!

Single cab sport would be fun. I love the look. I think I can see a backseat in that video. Anyone else think so?
