I own a ‘25 Raptor V6 and absolutely love the truck, but I miss having a V8. Over the last couple months I debated going to a TRX or a Raptor R. I like to piss money away on cars so I always buy brand new, the R prices have come down but I still think paying over MSRP is stupid. I found one at $5k over sticker but it was a thousand miles away and not my color.
With the new TRX the decreased payload kinda pisses me off, my family of four plus our dog head to the family cabin often and we go on road trips so the truck bed is loaded up. My kids are only 5 though so I guess I don’t have to worry about weight anytime soon though. The ‘27’s look a bit tamed down now also with the new headlights and grille shape so that was another thing on my mind. Lack of 37’s was another negative for me but those can easily get added I know and I likely would right away.
All that aside I miss the V8 rumble and that supercharger whine sounds addicting. I ended up ordering one at $2k under MSRP. Hoping I made the right decision haha. I was pretty bummed watching my 392 Wrangler drive off when I sold it but I quickly forgot about it with the Raptor, hopefully the TRX does the same.
