Ok so I messed up…

When I ordered my TRX and saw trailer of verse steering figured why not! So I ordered it and moved on…

Now that I’ve received my truck I realize that with this option I lose two upfitter switches that are more important to me then my truck backing up a trailer that I have done myself all my life lol. Really didnt want to add a switchpro so hoping this is fixable.

I see that the harness is already pre-wired in my engine compartment for all 6 upfitters. Is it just a matter of ordering the correct panel? Can I get my software reflashed at a ram dealer to activate those 2 switches? Anyone want TRS? Lol

I believe you can still access them in the Uconnect settings but I could be wrong.

I had the same problem but was thankfully able to get my order changed in time. It was very confusing how they described this option and it did not tell you that you lost 2 of the AUX hard buttons.

I still don’t have a truck but I believe that I saw that there were other people saying that the last 2 buttons were still available on the uconnect system as soft buttons. I’ve also seen owners manual photos posted stating that there are only 4 switches available in that configuration. I would double check your pre wire look before taking any action.

It’s probably just as simple as doing panel replacement and then flashing with AlfaOBD. A dealer could probably help but I wouldn’t count on it.

It would be liveable if they were available as soft buttons only but would prefer hard keys. Dealers??? Help??? Never heard such a thing… lol

The wire harness has 6 wires coming out in the engine compartment and has 6 ratings on the label wrapped around the loom.

It's based on what trim you chose. I have trailer control and all 6 switches ...on base trim

I didn't realize that. I don't think I'll ever use more than 4, but I also don't think I'll ever use trailer steering either. That's a good bit of information you found, wish I had known.

There’s another thread on this on the forum. If you only have 4 that’s all you have access to regardless of the wiring loom under the hood. Every truck has the loom for the 6 upfitter switches but your Uconnect is only setup for your rig (4 or 6).

Ohhhhh id like that... Mine has the parking sensors. still think the TRS is semi useless for me just thought if I could add it why not. Dohh..

Not sure if Lvl 1 has the parking sensors..if not you'll have 6 switches as well...Maybe someone with lvl 1 and trailer control can chime in.. post it on FB since you might get an answer faster

I'd check with your dealer. If your still in "D" status you could probably get it changed. I know when I ordered my Rubicon 392 I changed my order three times before it got locked in
