Need New Tires

Its it's time for new ones on my girl also, 30,000 miles and now they are defiantly getting noisy. I wanted to see if there was anything better out there but I don't think so for all around driving in four seasons with snow.

Baby needs a new pair of shoes. I'm about to hit 40k on mine.

I was thinking about going with the GY OEM tires but on the fence from what others have said on here.

I’ll be replacing with stock as I want to maintain the same vehicle height. The OEM tires are very light and one of the best performance options if acceleration matters to you. They are also one of the highest speed rated tires available in this format.

Performance is great and they lasted 40000 miles - what more could you ask for?

Amen. I’d go oem too. Good in the snow too. I’ve ridden through many feet of snow with the oem tires. Mammoth dumped crazy amounts of snow and she kept trudging like nothing. Tahoe storms and rain storms as well.

Meh the oems wear out quicker than others, id take any of the options listed above over the oem’s.

Just came from MT BBs and now going with toyo r/t trail, and quite impressed. Smooth ride, low noise, good traction wet/dry, and stiff sidewall that doesnt roll over in the corners.

Yes, look at the 1st page. I have 2-3k miles on mine now. They are great.
Any chance you can post a pic with them installed? I can't find any images online with them on a TRX.

Also in for pics of these

. . .I'm in the same boat and coming up on 36K miles on the OEM Wranglers.

Leaning heavily on the General Grabber X3's due to the red sidewall lettering (that matches my tow hooks and hood lettering) and past performance I've had with the late model Grabbers on my Gen. 1 Raptor:

I'm also at the point that I want to replace my tires. I'm attracted to the AW4's but I don't want to add 12 lb to each wheel in rotational mass. That's got to make a pretty big impact on performance. I do off-road quite often. I wish Goodyear made the new Wrangler DuraTrac RT in our size. That would be my go-to but the original DuraTrac has a lot of downsides including sidewall strength. I'm not sure what to do either and I'm leaning towards factory even though I'd like to upgrade but I don't want to add 12 lb to each tire.

Sorry...6 months later coming back with pics. They are awesome and grip is great. I dont notice the extra rotational mass at all vs. OEM Goodyears..

It is, runs solid in all sorts of weather including south florida monsoon season. Great part is its speed rating is the same as the OEM rubber.

Went with the Falkon Wildpeaks AT4W. It snows where I live and I think these will be a decent choice and improvement over the factory tires. Only thing I don't like is the increase in the weight. I don't know if I can feel a difference but I'm sure there would be a difference if I ran quarter mile runs back to back with old tires versus new. Given that I generally only race the TRX off-road, I don't think I really care. Plus I have a 10 second trackhawk if I really want to race somebody on the street/track.

Update, I'm taking up Falkon on their 30 day/1000 mile return policy.

I love the traction of the wild peak AT4W in dry conditions but the first time I hit snow and ice, it was far worse than the OEM tires. Unfortunately, I need better traction in snow and ice and so these are going and a set of KO3s are on the way in. I was really expecting the traction in snow and ice to be similar to the AT3W but it's not, it's far worse.

I just watched this video last night and couldn't believe how poorly they did and then I see your comment. I thought for sure I was going to go with at4w but now I have to rethink that. Def keep us posted with the ko3s.

Yeah, I would say my experience was similar to TFL. A lot more slip and slide than I expected. The OEM tires were pretty good in the snow and ice, not great but pretty good, but these seemed worse.

The KO3s come in this week and will be installed. I don't know when the next snow is coming where I live but I will be happy to update once I have some feedback to give.

what do you think of the k03s? Are they that much stiffer with the f load? Im looking for new tires was going to get k03 until I saw load and they are .2” shorter, might get another set of the oem Goodyears.

I do think I can notice the KO3s being stiffer. The ride quality is not as good as the OEMs or the falcons. I don't mind sacrificing a bit as I live two miles from an OHV area and I'm willing to give up some ride quality for potentially better traction. I think the OEM tires are a great balance all around and maybe the next time I swap out tires I may go back to them as well. I'm really curious to see how that KO3 is due in the snow but we are getting a very late start to the season.
