Ordered mine a month ago. Hopefully they will ship it soon! Doesn’t sound that loud. Perhaps it is on the outside. TRX can always use more whine!Lol it’s definitely louder i really like it. Going to buy a second set of filters so when it’s time to clean them I can just install the new set and wash the dirty ones out and let them dry…..
Yea, the dual pipe feed method going to the box doesn’t really promote the harmonics to increase the whine. That’s why I ordered the S&B hoping the single pipe can amplify the sounds a bit more. We will see though. Some folks also don’t like supercharger whine… I don’t understand them… but some people also like to have sex with feet and I don’t understand them either. To each their own.Ordered mine a month ago. Hopefully they will ship it soon! Doesn’t sound that loud. Perhaps it is on the outside. TRX can always use more whine!

Cold Air Intake for 2021-2024 RAM 1500 TRX V8-6.2L
S&B 75-5150 - It's all about horsepower with the 2021-2024 Ram 1500 TRX V8 cold air intake kit which includes one gigantic filter and a 30% larger air scoop inlet.www.sbfilters.com
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you like it. The silicone hose is supplied for this intake. I recommended heat shrinking the OE hose if you ever need to go back to stock (or just re-use the supplied silicone). I hate cutting factory parts, but there really wasn't a way around this one.Ok so I got home at 4:30 to and had to do the install. The whole job was about a little over an hour. Not bad at all but a few things to watch out for Would be when you tacking out the sensor out of the stock tube. They way it looks you would normally then it away from the little stop tab but you actually need to turn it towards it. The kit has been updated since the instructions have been printed. There’s a tube going to the intake tube and they tell you to cut it off and then reinstall on the same tube and heat shrink the old tube back on. However the new set up comes with a new hose. the whole installation was pretty well. Make sure you install the filters in the housing before you try and put the Side tubes on to them. That was the biggest hassle and other than that it went very smoothly. So far I what is your short distance but it was a little louder but not bad. This kit is an A+ for fitment and quality. those who didn’t wait sorry giys this kit is great and retains the cold air intake system.
Factory duck bill is just transferred from the stock system to the Momentum GT system. I couldn't really add baffles to the design without interfering with the air filters, but this filter housing does sit a bit lower than stock and has that drainage built in. If you are doing any water crossings the water should drain out underneath the air filters with no problem. Will wait to her from him but I inquired with aFe and the engineer who designed it(he's usually here) confirmed a duck bill that drains water and debris. No baffles(fins) though
Clear plastic window is held in with clips and sealed with a high density foam. Its not too hard to remove, and should increase the noise for sure. The only downside will be pulling in more of the hot ambient engine bay air and maybe a bit more dust over time, but it really shouldn't affect performance too much.I mentioned it elsewhere and was wondering if removing the clear plastic window will increase the sound.
The afe engineer confirmed it was removable on the other thread, didn't mention any ill affect it may have open.
Do you have the stock exhaust?Lol it’s definitely louder i really like it. Going to buy a second set of filters so when it’s time to clean them I can just install the new set and wash the dirty ones out and let them dry…..
Yes I don’t like things screaming loud and I think the truck is pretty good as it isDo you have the stock exhaust?
I thought the same thing for a few months lol. Give yourself some time hahaYes I don’t like things screaming loud and I think the truck is pretty good as it is
Lol did you add any boost?I thought the same thing for a few months lol. Give yourself some time haha
I was keeping my truck stock waiting to hopefully hear RAM would offer some mods under warranty(they still might) but am losing my patience. I'm holding off on tune, thermostat, injectors for a few more months but I might pull the trigger on them too.Lol did you add any boost?
Haha yeah I know what you mean. I’m Thinking I’m going to do the lower and a 310 upper with some chapters and Teune wouldn’t mind trying to pump it up 100 horseI was keeping my truck stock waiting to hopefully hear RAM would offer some mods under warranty(they still might) but am losing my patience. Ordered pulley, am waiting on the S&B Intake and did electric cutouts.
I was joking on the exhaust because I thought stock was plenty for a few months, after all Ram did a great job on that system. Then I heard a truck with swapped mufflers and had to do it... then rode someone's truck with cutouts and did that too.
SC whine and a loud V8 when I want to is all I could ask for in a truck
Interested to know...is RAM considering performance mods for the TRX within warranty? Just curious, as I have newly purchased 2022 and not overly eager to throw mods on until I see more feedback from other owners. It would be awesome if RAM offered up some performance upgrades.I was keeping my truck stock waiting to hopefully hear RAM would offer some mods under warranty(they still might) but am losing my patience. Possibly. Dodge has been already doing packages under warranty and I can't see RAM sitting out either. They want that money owners will spend anyways.. It's all a matter of when. What did you install for the mufflers and cutouts? Have any links?
