I plan on ordering a black trx this week. I’m going with the base model and not sure if the tow mirrors would be better to have to see blind spots since I will not have blind spot detection? I will not be towing with it so that is not a factor for me and aesthetically I like the looks of both of them. Would appreciate any input

Welcome to the forum @Brian1911 . The convex mirror on the tow mirror offers a wider view and you can cover more ground for sure but they are bulky. The standard mirrors do a great job of giving you a wide range as well and I have not had any difficulty seeing blind spots with the normal mirrors. I had a 2019 Raptor prior and I would say the standard mirrors offer similar or slightly better side view.

When stood up the tow mirrors are basically like super duty mirrors from the ford line up.

BTW before ordering definitely consider one of the forum dealers offering 9k-11k off msrp for ordered trucks if you haven't already. Good luck with the order. Truck is an absolute blast and you won't regret it one bit.

Thanks for the info, I was curious how well the view of the smaller convex on the standard mirror is. I’m currently in a 20 raptor and have a 23 on order at 10k over msrp. It’s a no brainer to go with the trx at 10k under.

You are making the right choice

I have the standard mirrors on my truck and they work well, the corner convex is done right to make checking the blind spots easy. I know you said you won't tow but I'm at just about 8000 miles on my truck and have towed my 8' wide travel trailer for 2800 of those miles and would still opt for the standard mirrors.

If you adjust the standard mirrors properly you won't have any blind spots. I also had a 2020 Raptor and you won't regret switching to the TRX.

I ordered the Tow mirrors, and got cold feet a few weeks ago, and picked up the non tow mirrors from someone that went in the other direction.

The general consensus seems to be the tow mirrors are great when in the vertical position, but look like moose antlers if you aren’t actually towing something. They are awkward in the down position, but most folks seems to get used to them.

May end up being a matter of personal preference. Utility vs Aesthetic and what you are using your truck for.

Thanks man, that’s the kind of information I was looking for

I just picked up my TRX on Thursday, coming from a Silverado 2500 with vertical tow mirrors, the tow mirrors on the TRX have definitely taken time to get used to. I’d say I’m happy with them after 400-500 miles. Flipped them up for fun but won’t keep it that way unless I’m actually towing.

Not trying to show my age, but the tow mirrors up remind me of Bullwinkle. Hard pass.

I had tow mirrors on my '22, didn't like them, so I ordered the regular mirrors on my '23.
I Had regular mirrors on my '20 Rebel (look to be the same as whats on the trx) and liked them, no real blind spots and worked fine when towing my 23ft RV.
The tow mirrors blocked too much of my view looking forward/out side windows, maybe just because I was used to the other ones, but I regretted ordering them.

These threads would be good for you to read through:

Here are some pictures of the two mirror types, from a driver's point of view.

It’s looking like the 2023 might have a new tow mirror design… the 2023 rebel 2500 shows a new design that I’m not a huge fan of…

I think the new one is ugly but if it has power folding and power extension then I am for it

HD only for 23.

The tow mirrors are pretty big and block views for example when you are at a 4 way stop.

How ever… the tow mirrors come with the trailer spot light…

That light is AWESOME.

It’s so bright and well focused that I did not bother with doing the led lights that people are getting and placing under their rear tow hooks to illuminate when they are reversing.

Now they are not as bright as a proper Baja designs or rigid light, but they are so bright that it makes it hard to need more lights.

I prefer how the tow mirrors work when they are flipped up in their tow configuration but they do look silly that way…
