Michigan dealer under MSRP?

Good luck... I couldn’t find any.

I ended up purchasing from Koons in Virginia. Well worth the savings.

I recommend rewarding one of the forum sponsors / regulars who frequently sell to us below MSRP or below Invoice (even the hot cars like the TRX or Rubicon 392) and giving them your business instead of someone local who will most likely price gouge you for even being remotely interested in anything with wheels.

Also from Michigan, did the same thing. My truck got built last week, now I get to wait for them to ship it farther away from me than it is right now, just so I can travel to go pick it up….

I dealt with Lafontaine, in Saline, MI. I've been working with them for years, and they treated me right, like they always do. They also took care of the truck very well too.

Don't be coy, did they cut you a price below MSRP? "took care of you" could mean a 10k ADM but they also gave you a handy.

Also in MI. I got mine March 2021 at Huvaeres in Richland MI for msrp. It was before the discount dealers showed up and a mediocre experience. I'm waiting on a discounted Granger ordered Jeep 392.

I went thru Lafontaine in Fenton, MI. It wasn't under MSRP but I ordered it with out any markup. Ordered late April and waiting for it to be built.

I feel like MSRP is the highest acceptable price for these anymore... I don't know about you guys, but I'll make a 2 day road trip to save 10 grand. I make enough money, sure, but not 5 grand a day yet.

I dealt with Huvaere one time, quite a few years ago. Worst dealership experience I have ever had, by far. Never went back.

Lighten up Francis. This is a public forum and I don't like putting a all of my info out there, but I'll try to be helpful. When I ordered, I refused to pay anything above MSRP. ADM is a bullshit scam, and I won't deal with a dealership that does it. This is the third truck I got from this particular dealership, and I've got a good relationship with my sales guy. I believe in building on that, and I feel like they do as well, because anything above MSRP never entered the conversation.

My situation worked out tricky, because I was ending a lease to get the TRX. I was 3 months early on my lease and expected it to go as 'early turn in' but it didn't. It was purchased for more than what I owed, so I came out ahead there. That, and some other discounts, and the bottom line is that my sticker was $97k, but my paperwork shows $92k. No handies were involved in the purchase of this truck. :)

Hope that helps.

I guess it's all semantics, but I am still yet to see anyone from MI say that they have been offered less than MSRP upfront in MI.

Before finding the forum deals on the TRX, I had a loaded Rebel w/ GT package on order from Lafontaine. At the time they weren't offering discounts on those either. When I first saw the forum offers, I thought "no way could this be true considering the ADMs I had seen on the TRX", but then I found out they were in fact 100% legit and so was the price protection (the base price went up 2X during the 4 1/2 month production wait).

I ended up getting the TRX for just a couple grand more than the Rebel... but this was for a lot more truck with more options that I couldn't get on the Rebel due to order restrictions... and it was still less than than I would have spent after putting new wheels, tires, and a lift on the Rebel like I was planning. The TRX comes perfect as is. The final price on the TRX from Koons wound up being almost $15K under MSRP.

The out of state buying process was very smooth. Just a matter of FedEx ing some paperwork back and forth. I ending up using Koons for the financing because upon challenging them, they were able beat the best rate I had been offered. I did have to set up and pay for shipping ($1,000), but that was easy and worth it given the savings. The truck arrived in pristine condition. I had to wait a couple months for Michigan title and plates, but Koons was good about renewing the temp tags quickly and overnighting them... so again, no complaints and highly recommend using a forum dealer. I know a lot of others here have similar stories with Koons, Granger and Cummins. I'm really glad I stumbled onto this forum and found the deal that I did.

I did hit the forums after I had already ordered. I didn't even learn about that experience until afterward. Definitely sounds like a good experience, and if anyone isn't having luck around their home area, this definitely seems the way to go.

I visited a small dealership a mile from where I work with a printout from the forum about the $9k or $10k off of sticker deals. Explained that if they could give me some type of deal below MSRP I'd consider keeping my business local. They pretty much told me there's no way the offers are legit. I ordered one from Granger the next day.

Call Ross Winston at Henkel Auto in Battle Creek. He sold me my Trx $4500 below MSRP and was a pleasure to deal with. (800) 496-9981

They didn’t have an “allocation” so I placed a sold order with them with a $500 deposit. Ordered 2/6/21, took delivery 5/21/21.

I haven’t kept up on delivery timelines, but saving that amount of money in exchange for a little patience was a no-brainer.

Congrats! You are the first I have heard of.

I think that MI dealers (and Metro Detroit area in particular) aren't willing to give up margin because they do sooo many employee purchases (across the board) that have them working thin already. So when they get a chance to make a higher margin because they can, they'll hold their position.
