Just picked up my 2027 TRX- found a dent

So while inspecting the truck a final time I noticed a small dent on the rear drivers side door. Dealer wrote on the IOU slip they need to fix it.

Since this dent happened before I even took delivery of the truck- would Ram be able to just give me a new door? I really don’t want some dent specialist poking at it and from what I can tell there’s no easy access point, which will require him to drill from the left side, since the dent is about 4 inches from the front of the door and on the body line.

@RamCares what is your opinion here?

Not too happy picking up a brand new 6 figure truck with a dent. Kind of ruined my new car delivery experience as that’s all I can think about. Now add to that the stress of “will this dent guy fix it right? Will he have to drill into my brand new door? Will it take on moisture and rust etc etc.

Annoyed and just venting.

Generally no, it’s on the dealer to perform an inspection when it comes off the truck.

I was a car porter years back, when the cars came off the truck we inspected them. If we saw damage it was reported to the trucking company, not the manufacturer.

If it was missed during that inspection it becomes the dealers problem to fix.
