IGLA or not?

I've read a bunch on this forum about IGLA but I've never looked at the site. I didn't realize it's not a number PIN but a button sequence (which ups the coolness level tbh)

Can you choose any buttons you want or is it limited to certain ones?
I think this should be answered by the installer once it’s installed IMO.

12-14 buttons normally on a mopar. It’s available for hundreds of makes and models and varies by vehicle. Just put one in my BMW yesterday

Okay, I'm starting to get The Fear now. Where's the nearest dealer to me? Portland? I'm central coast OR.
Do yourself a favor and get igla asap. Nobody wants to read about another stolen one. Nothing about the trx is low key... see what I did there 😉

Yeah, I contacted them today and they were very helpful. I’m just trying to decide if I should do it. I haven’t done any factory mods to my vehicle, so I want to make sure I’m not doing anything that will mess it up. Will adding the IgLA impact the factory warranty at all? These may be dumb questions, but I’m really just getting into the TRX experience.
You should do it asap. Mine was stolen from the hotel literally the night after I picked it up from the dealer. I had IGLA booked in later that week. I was roadtriping back and couldn't even get the truck home before it was taken. Thieves want your truck and they will follow you and take it. Don't let them have it.

Just don't use the paddles as part of your PIN sequence. Sometimes they have an identity crisis and don't work right / at all.

As someone who leaves the TRX outside in front of my house in a large metro area (Seattle) the IGLA gives me a lot of peace of mind. So I recommend.

A bit of a pain when I valet or service, but other than that very happy.

Here is the shock sensor site that i ordered from along with many others from our group im sure. depending on how the sensors get mounted you can make it veeerrryyyy sensitive for activation

Ram TRX 20 21 22 23 24 Kit# B3504

Is it just a shock sensor or is it both a shock and glass break?
A glass break listens for the high pitched sound breaking glass makes and trips. I use to put them on all my cars but I have gotten lazy.
With the pin glass break units thief's have, driven by a spring. There is very little shock so sound would be important.
When I used to work in Boston the best protection was needed.

Yes on IGLA @kram0326 I believe the Tazer Bricker says if someone is breaking into your truck to unplug it and throw the Tazer module at the perp. Jk.

Got my IGLA done at the Lacey WA location, Audio Northwest 11/10 service. I was just down near exit 1/vancouver recently. How cool would that be, drive across the bridge for a tax free Costco run lol @low.key.trx

Okay, I've made contact. They'll call me back once he confirms inventory and can probably get me in next week. It would be so poetic to have survived for 3 years without only to have it stolen with an appointment scheduled. I might be camping in the truck every night until then.

Rereading your comment, I just realized I'll be paying sales tax on this 😭 is THAT why there are two in WA but zero in OR? Jfc
There are zero in OR because nobody has gave me any good 12v shops to contact and the one that was thinking about it never followed up with me.

Any reservations about the IGLA installer in Cincinnati? That appears to be the closest one to me.
They do great work, one of my dealers actually. I am not far from them 🤷‍♂️

unpopular opinion here, but you might want to hear from the few of us that choose not to do the IGLA. I did have it installed but it never worked for me. Had to drive 1.5 hours a few times to have it checked out multiple times and they could never get it working right. So, I do not have one installed. Iʻm ok with that. One upside is I donʻt have to have the pain of doing the ʻset up/configure/get truck into service modeʻ dance when taking the truck into have service done. Other upside is if it does get stolen, iʻll be getting something new!

what didn't work for you?
Itʻs been a while, but from what I remember, the truck wouldnʻt start unless I had my OEM fob with me along with the IGLA fob. even then, sometimes it wouldnʻt start. Just acted very squirrelly and was not dependable. once it was removed, all the issues of starting it went away. Iʻm all for a good security system, but if it keeps me from starting my vehicle - that's not a solution that works for a vehicle that Iʻd like to have start every time I get into it.

I had my first truck stollen (had Ravelco). I definitely recommend IGLA. Really only takes a matter of seconds to use the code and definitely gives some well needed piece of mind.
