How to turn off key fob windows down feature?

I get the fact that the Tazer gave you the ability to clear the DTC and re-enable things, but why couldn't you have just turned off auto high beams through the UConnect menus, then operate the high beams manually?

And for those wondering what Lane Keep Assist has to do with auto high beams - they both rely on the camera in the DASM (big module behind the rear view mirror) to detect both lane markings, and approaching headlights.
Why would I do that if I could just fix it? Asking for a friend…

КHow to activate this feature?

It’s a Tazer feature. I found out when I sent my girl out to the truck to get something. Found out she has a tendency to hit the unlock button way too many times. She thought the windows got busted in since they were rolled down before she got to it. I did some digging and found it in the Tazer manual. Pretty sure it’s just a feature that doesn’t have an option like the light shows.

Whats even more concerning is the other day I walked out into my garage and my tailgate was popped open and up against the garage door. Luckily I noticed it before I opened the garage door. That would have definitely done some damage. When I was doing some things around the house with the fob in my pocket it must have hit the button.
This is actually a recall issue for Ram Trucks. Probably didn’t actually hit the button.

Do you have more information on this? Is there a TSB, or any other document that you know of?

I'm not sure about 5th gen trucks, but I activated remote window roll down on my 2015 with AlfaOBD. It wasn't a 5x push, it was an unlock button push once and then push and hold for the roll-down.

Oh, that. I didn't pay attention to who you were responding to - I thought you were talking about a recall for the windows rolling down inadvertently.
I’m not aware of a TSB for windows because it only does it with the Tazer.

I saw a video - see link below…

He presssed the unlock button 3x paused for a couple seconds and hit it 2x more and his front windows sure as hell went down… w/o a tazer.

Will try it myself in the morning.

Ok… so it is part of the Tazer and Tazer does not know it? I checked all the menus in the cluster and can’t find anything about windows. So at this point it seems like you are stuck with it when you install the Tazer.
It isn’t in the cluster menu and is a hidden feature. It also has no way to turn it on or off unless you unmarry and unplug it

I purchased a Taser for my 2018 Dodge Charger Scat Pack. Initially it did not have the ability to roll down the windows via the FOB. They released a BETA version in 2019 which I downloaded and it remotely lowered the front driver and passenger windows by depressing the FOB unlock button 6 times in succession. I pretty sure the Taser DT has that feature.

Certain Nissan, Infiniti and Honda vehicles have that feature when you hold down the unlock button for a few seconds the windows will roll down. To roll them back up you stick the key inside the keyhole and turn towards the lock position and hold it to get them back up.

Not sure if it applies for the TRX, but I’ll try it in the morning.

Most of my last seven or eight FCA vehicles will lower the front windows if you hold the unlock button. Having installed a taser several months ago. However, I have noticed that my windows have gone down on the first or second unlock.

Something is weird. About two months ago I was messing with my TRX and hit some random sequence on my key fob and all 4 windows rolled down. Since then, I have never been able to replicate it. I don't have an Alpha or Tazer.

On my AMG, you just hold down the unlock button on the fob and it rolls down all the windows and sunroof. If or senses rain, it closes everything on it's own.

keyfob and key in door lock - windows down/up is a feature very common on european cars, VAG and Mecedes cars have it, not sure about BMW would have to find out...
