Hi everyone,
Just wanted to quickly introduce myself. I’m currently looking into getting a RAM TRX, test-drove one today, and I really love the truck.
I do have one minor concern and wanted to get your expert opinions on it: I noticed some oil residue on the top flat surface/grooves of the supercharger housing, right around the oil fill area. However, looking closely at the rest of the engine bay—including the valve covers, lower block edges, and surrounding components—everything else is completely bone-dry and spotless.
Based on this, it definitely looks like minor spillage or overflow from a previous top-off rather than an active internal leak. For those of you who know these superchargers well, does that sound like a reasonable assessment, or is there any specific spot I should double-check?
Looking forward to being part of the community!

The supercharger does collect some dirt and water, but not anything like that. I agree with the guys above, I think a squirrel is living in and around that blower.

I has a squirl in mine once. Look at the battery cover. They like sleeping on it, pissing too. Had to clean it up and get a new battery cover. My SC wasn't that bad though.

How does your hood's insulation look. Usually critters will tear that up.

Agreed that it looks like some sort of turd or busted nut, but definitely way too much to be a squirrel's busted nut after look at Ms. squirrel. Tree nut is more realistic.
