Hello, I just wanted to see how legit this was. (before you comment if you can't afford the gas you can't afford the truck, I can but it doesn't hurt to save an extra fill up)
Saw on TikTok this guy was averaging 14-16MPG by keeping his trx in snow mode and airing down a little on his tires. He said because it drops the horse power to 500 and doesn't burn unnecessary fuel and cause the engine to not work over time. I wanted to see if anyone has tried this method and has it/would it damage your engine if you daily it in this mode.

Just get an RHO and you don't have to push any snow buttons for 500 hp.

In all seriousness I am always in custom and never even used the snow button, but I know some guys have gotten that mpg just driving conservatively, but I can't do it if I get 9mpg its a good day for me.

Dude...NO ONE buys a TRX for Mileage...If your pocketbook necessitates an extra 1 or 2 more miles per gallon, by muting what makes the TRX, the TRX...Go by a Prius... Geeze Louise...:ROFLMAO:

The airing down portion doesn’t make sense to me, wouldn’t that create more rolling resistance and therefore worse mpg?

I thought the going around thing when the truck first came out was putting the truck in valet mode. One of the guys did a week long valet mode and I can’t remember what it was but it was better mpg… but they said not at all worth the hassle.
I didn’t think snow mode lowered power, just made the pedal more lazy and the Nannie’s turned up more

I tried snow mode back in 21' for a few hundred miles, it saves fuel, understandably. The mapping in snow mode reduces the trucks throttle and tranny responsiveness. When you romp on the go pedal, it laughs at you. I call it castration mode. The TRX loses it's balls. Some people drive it in snow mode 100% of the time. They are boring people and should have bought a Prius. I am doing much better now-a-days and don't drive it like a total ass, so I am about 7.8 mpg on average :).

Practically never driving where there are stoplights or stop signs I usually get 14 to 15 mpg without trying at all.

Well, if keeping it under 80 or so, and not passing too many cars...which almost always means full throttle, for full enjoyment.

i love how he's asking a legit question about better MPGs, makes it a point to say he can afford the gas and is immediately roasted lol

I’m not sure OP has a trx yet. Thought was still waiting on an allocation, so it’s not a question of “better” mpg in a TRX, it’s having any MPG in a trx 😂 and if you go by that logic, 10MPG when they take delivery is 10 better than they are currently getting, it’s science

OP have you picked one up yet???

Everybody knows someone that will drive 60 extra miles to save 5 cents per gallon.

Snow mode, tow mirrors folded out then in, tailgate down, ac off, stereo off, do not use low octane unless it is from a top tier station 🤣.

I can certainly relate to the A/C being off since it thankfully doesn't get all that warm around here, and the stereo? If my drives were boring enough I'd have it on (or at least hear it) more often.

Also have to admit that I tend to run on low octane gas. It may have started as 91 (the highest we get here), but after well over six months it's not quite 91 anymore.

Man, I'm doing a lot of things wrong, aren't I?
