First I apologize for no pictures.
Finally got around to changing the fluids in my 22' TRX. The truck is a pavement king so no hard miles on him. Like all others the diffs were a bit low but not absurdly. I estimate I had just over 2 quarts in the rear and about 1.2 in the front.
Fluids were clean particularly the front diff. The front diff plugs has very minimal residue on them and the rear diff fluid was a bit dirtier with very little sheen to it. The rear diff plugs did have quite a bit of residue on them, particularly the fill plug which had about a 3mm thick debris coating it and the drain plug was 1-2mm of debris. Very fine particulate and nothing concerning.
Replaced with Redline fluids and I would agree that rear holds about 2.5 quarts but the front only took about 1.25 quarts.
I plan on changing in another 40k miles and will be interested to see what I find on the drain plugs more than anything else. I don't think waiting this long was detrimental in the slightest but wonder if I'll continue to see the same amount of fine particulate.
Changing the fluids is extremely easy as you can do it with the truck on the ground. I did need a fluid pump to fill the diffs because of the redline bottles, wish they made the squeeze bag version.
