Forced to Finance

They won't let me use my own bank. Only the ones they deal with. The salesman and finance manager were really good but it seems that as soon as the window sticker was issued, the owner of the dealership kind of took over. He's been calling me and wanting my info to get the financing done but won't answer my other questions like when the truck is expected to reach the dealership. He just sounds super rushed.

If it was any other vehicle, I would have walked away. But the dealers here can't even place orders for the TRX. There's a couple used 2022 level 2 TRXs in my province and they're selling for 140k to 160k Canadian.

Thank you for everyone's replies. Appreciate all the info 🙏🏽
If I was in your shoes I would make sure there is no penalty for paying it off early and I would turn around and pay it off the following day after the truck is yours. Fuck the dealer out of the kick back and leave a review on google to let others know of the shady biz!

I had ordered my TRX (MSRP) and allowed the dealer to run my credit prior to the actual order being placed. I got the call the truck was delivered and showed up with my check book. The dealership threw an absolute fit, my salesman told me I wasn’t going to be able to leave with the truck unless I financed. I requested the dealer show me ANYWHERE that I had signed that said I would finance the truck, they couldn’t. I cut the check, they verified funds, I drove home with the truck. Dealers are scum.
I love hearing stories like this. Let's hear more of them!

Just finance, payoff before your first payment. They can’t take the truck back and who gives a fawk after you have the truck anyways? I bought a 2500 this way. I told them 35k out the door, they said only if I used their financing. Sure I said. After my first payment, I refinanced with my CU, got a much lower interest rate and there’s nothing the dealer could do. While it’s annoying, just do what they want initially, then give them the middle finger. Once the deal is done, signed for and finance check issued, there isn’t shit they can do
This is true they bank on the consumer being uninformed. It sure of OP laws in Canada however, but I’d just pay it off soon as you can no biggie.

What, exactly, are they going to do if you finance 50k and pay the bank off directly as soon as they send you your first statement?

Come and pick up the truck?

In case you don't know, sale price in China for this car is around $250k before mark up. So yes this is bit typical for Canada, Benz, BMW don't really allow you to all-cash purchase, tons of people exporting X5,X7 GLS, LX570 to China. Why not in USA? because China has a 25% tax on car imported from the US. :ROFLMAO:
