Looking for some real owner feedback here…

Anyone in here owned a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, McLaren 720 S, or Lamborghini Huracán?

I’m thinking about replacing my Audi R8 V10 Plus and one of these three is at the top of my list.

- Huracán: does it feel basically like an R8 in a different suit, or is it a noticeably different experience?

- 720 S: how’s reliability been in the real world? Any major headaches or mostly overblown?

- GT3 RS: does it feel underpowered compared to the others, and how livable is it as a daily?

Would love to hear from anyone that has driven/owned any or all of the above. I’m open to suggestions on other supercars as well.

Appreciate it 👍

Also in the market for another vehicle. V10 R8 is on the list. Are you bored with the R8 or just want something different?

Mine’s a 2017 and has the Matte Daytona color. I absolutely hate the matte paint, it scratches too easily and is a pain to maintain. Since I bought it used, it already had a lot of swirls and rock chips that can only be fixed by a new paint job. It should have been PPF’d on day one.

I got a great offer from my local Audi dealer, so will be selling it this week.

Other than the paint what did you like or not like about it? How was the driving experience overall? Auto or manual?

So the 2017 and above are all dual clutch automatics.

It’s a pretty cool car, plenty of power and the DCT is lightning fast with the paddles. Oil changes will run around $800, which is a bargain in the sports car world. They are very reliable and can easily be daily driven.

I will live vicariously through you guys with super cars...

but my dream of those would be the Porsche 911 GT3 RS...I was just shocked at how much these things appreciate...in fact hard to come by any 911 from the last 10 years because they are at or above MSRP. Also because of the demand. All the local Porsche shops are asking $350K+ to get one...

Very true, they have shot up tremendously. I’ll be looking for a 2016 model year and not the newest ones. You can still get the previous gen for little under 200k.

I’ve owned longhood early 911’s and am still amazed at what these modern cars bring. They aren’t particularly rare, either. But, man they are a status symbol right now or something.

A friend of mine had a 2015 Carrera 4S. It was just a pleasure to ride and drive. There was this lady I worked with, she was the GM of finance at a previous company I worked for and she had a 911 Turbo S. That was a beast. I think it was a 2011/2. However, I always thought the person just did not fit the car... hahahaha let's just say she was almost as wide as she was tall. Think the female version of JB Pritzker.

Haha. That's funny. The lady that owned my '73 911S was a big gal too. But, don't judge a book by it's cover, I guess. She won the SCCA Solo II National Championship, twice, in that little car. :)

Agreed. All about the skill...but man you got to appreciate the 1993 McLaren F1 engineers were thinking ahead by putting that seat in the middle. you know to perfect the balance.

McLaren performance is something else but its not reliable at all. A lot of issues has been fixed with the newer ones such as 750s and Artura's

I would stay away from the 720s but man its so hard given the way it looks and drives

Oof… the F1 is a whole other planet. It’s the ultimate road car. Gordon Murray’s opus. The nec plus ultra of the super cars. Full stop, no notes.

I'm don't have enough extra funds to dable in super cars but if I did I would pick a Lamborghini SVJ or Lamborghini Tecnica.

Leaving the 4 rings family? I have a ‘23 SQ7 IE tuned on E85 that get groceries really fast! Love your list of cars you are looking into and a GT3RS is a garage dream car of mine. I’m of no help, just babbling 🤣 The ‘27 SRT TRX will be my supertruck 💪 Good luck on your choice! 🙌

Have you driven a gt3? They are stifffffff pretty uncomfortable for highway driving. IMO only worth if you plan to track it. Would go turboS if not. Haven’t personally driven the others you mention.
No, haven’t driven any of the cars on my list, was planning on sourcing the closest ones for a test drive or going to one of those exotic car track events. Turbo S is a great alternative as well.

Yeah, those are epic, but I’d like to stay under $250k

Not entirely, still have a Q5 in the family. Those SQ7s are awesome, wish they made something a little larger to compete with the GLS 63 and XM7.

Have you decided on a color for your 27?

That’s what I hear mostly about the older McLarens in general. Probably will start looking at the 488 GTB as an option instead.
