First thoughts on the TRX?

I was not a fan at all! I’m actually super bummed. I was excited about the motor but that was about it....an 802a raptor (Fully loaded) goes for mid 60’s. A similarly priced Trx goes for close to 100k. The engine is superior for sure but also 700 pounds heavier and only 2.5 Bilsteins!? I was really hoping for at least 3.0 kings. On paper this does not beat the raptor off-road and 40k more assuming you don’t get screwed with dealer markups. Sadly this truck is not within my budget . Was really hoping for a truck priced similar to the raptor and superior off-road.

Your post got me thinking...as I liked my previous Raptors....

I went online an built a fully loaded raptor that would be generally apples to apples....I came out about $18k difference in price...which is a chunk..

is a proper V8 worth let's say 5k more?
what about a SC V8?

Coil overs versus Leafs?...worth a couple $$?

Steel body with aluminum doors and hood?...the bed and rocker panels on my Alumi-duty dent if you look at them wrong?...worth a couple $$?

The new chassis...the outrageous in a good way styling...worth something?

Overall I am very excited.... 700hp and the sound is worth the delta in price for me....

I would like to have seen Kings but get it.....700 lbs more sucks...but steel in the chassis and body seem to be the better answer....larger brakes then the Ford and more power....will help...

As you can't use 700 hp off road...I agree on paper these trucks will be very closely matched off road with the Ford coming out on top...but man this TRX is going to be just plain stupid fun to drive

A crew cab Raptor starts at $58k (w/ destination) the TRX $71k (w/ destination) not a $40k difference, a $13k difference so maybe not out of your reach?

The Raptor “802A” package is $10,920 so with zero additional options that‘s $69k which is pretty close to where the TRX starts. The fully loaded Raptor I was considering buying equipped at $78k. The TRX I ordered w/ every single option save the RamBar is $94k but that’s w/ a lot of options/features the Raptor doesn’t have available. I paid MSRP. Look at both trucks interiors too & OMG did you year that thing & compared to the Raptor? For what you get, well worth the difference in $ IMO...

When the next Raptor is out probably w/ the V8 from the GT500, coils, updated interior, technology, etc. the 2 trucks will be more similarly equipped & I bet that Raptor will be in the $90k’s loaded as well.

First impression was I’m ordering one. Glad they surpassed 700HP and happy to see the high end finishings. Finally a Hellcat I can write off.

So glad they didn't go with the rumors that it was going to be tuned down to 500 HP...
Also color choice sucked, why I can't I get green or purple? That'll probably be next year but I'll enjoy my granite crystal which was the same color as my hellcat
