Seriously the only way to deter crime is severe penalties that are carried out.
I've challenged liberals (the ones who argue that I'm wrong about that) to name a way that will work then.
They or anyone NEVER has anything to say- because penalties are the ONLY thing that will work.
Imagine a point system. And when you get to say, 100 points, you're popped in the head 30 seconds after the judge hits the gavel. Of course there would have to be stipulations like "video evidence, valid dna evidence etc"
Just some ideas on points. LOL. This would take a long time to figure out, but could be done. The points "list" would have hundreds of crimes listed.
Speeding = 0 points (towards the "100 points and you're gone system"
Fighting at a bar = 1/4 point (if you instigated)
Theft of items $0-100 = 1/4 point
(theft points go up with item value, not gonna list them all, lol)
Theft of items $10k-20k = 60 points
Theft of items $75k+ = 100 points
Attempted murder =100 points
Molesting a kid = 100 points
Attempted rape = 100 points
Rape = 100 points
Murder = 100 points
If you had severe enough penalties, crime would come to screeching halt. One of two ways
1.) there would be no repeat offenders. They'd be dead.
2.) the fear of being dead would deter some crime.
Sad thing is....as a country as a whole...we don't want less crime. I mean, we talk about it. Keep saying "I wish we could all get along" and "why can't people be nice" and "Why do a few have to ruin it for everyone?" --and of course those comments get claps and likes but they do no good.
We don't want to deter crime because...I don't know why. Job security? Think of how many jobs would be lost if there were hardly any violent crime or theft? Think about how many jobs would lost if we cured a bunch of diseases. Think about how many jobs would be lost if we went to a national sales/income tax so that we were taxed on our income when we spent it. IRS would be nearly gone. Not all the way, but a lot of the way.
We don't WANT to fix some things. Crime is one of those things. And its the SIMPLEST of the 3 I mentioned. Sad.
