finally is here.

Question - if others find that a dealer has a tracker installed, is it safe just to uninstall / cut out?

Hey! So not defending the dealer here, but many dealers for their insurance and or financing (called flooring in the industry) have to install tracking devices on high value vehicles. They are supposed to remove them before the sale or they can try and sell them to you for a service commission.

So this may not be the nefarious ulterior motive that it looks like. Most sales people are clueless on this level of stuff, and will just say stupid stuff. Talk to the sales manager or the GM and ask about it. I really doubt they are going to try and track your truck and steal it. Remember they already know where you live, your social security number, and everything in your credit file….

True. Pics are gps and backup battery box. Get the dealer and LoJack on a conference call and have them transfer the device and subscription to your name. It’s only 120 bucks for 5 years and adds another layer of security including geo fencing with notifications through the app. Keep it installed and hide it. This is just one of the 7 layers of security for these badass trucks. Congrats on the new beast and bury this thread!
