Not actually sure if the question has been asked before in the same manor, but:

I'm looking to see, if anyone has any insight on the actual weight and performance gains (non-inflated/actually measured) that different exhausts systems give over the OEM system:

-OEM (weight, when taken off to replace it with one of the after market options)

-Corsa Xtreme (weight/whp gains)
-AWE 0FG (weight/whp gains)
-Borla (weight/whp gains)

While I understand, that the trucks are heavy and that me asking this may be inconsequential - while trying to shave weight. I'm still curious from a experimental and numbers perspective to make changes and see what the after results might be when its all said and done.

Any input would be appreciated. TIA

Catbacks you won’t see any performance gains.

You are replacing 3 inch with free flowing mufflers… with 3 inch free flowing mufflers/straight pipes.

So hp wise 0
Weight wise, I’m sure someone has weighed them and can tell you the 12lb savings decrease 0-60 by .00001 seconds 😂

You'll see little to no whp increase, and save ~20-40lbs, depending on which catback.

GT Haus sounds the best, by far, in my biased opinion lol (I previously had the 0FG, and have heard them all).

From a weight perspective: remove the spare tire - each OEM wheel is about 94lbs or 106lbs depending on if your TRX has the "beadlock capable" wheels or not. Simply drop the spare tire outa there for the easiest and cheapest bit of weight reduction.

On that note: Vossen HFX-1 18x9 -0 not only look great, but are also about 3.5lbs per wheel lighter than the OEM non-bead rims (27.5lbs vs 31lbs - "beadlock" ones are even heavier) - ~3.5lbs at the rim is *ABOUT* equal to pulling ~30lbs out of the exhaust system (unsprung rotational mass > sprung mass). Plus small improvements in suspension and steering feel with lighter wheels.

If the budget supports both, do both. If not, I'd do rims first.

If you are going down this route, you can go full light-weight mode and go with a titanium exhaust system. supposed to be much lighter than stainless steel .

As someone who went down this path, even bought a base model, went lightweight Rays wheels etc… I received zero increase in performance or economy savings hahaha

Point is, these are heavy trucks. It’ll take massive weight savings to make a difference in one direction or another

I don’t know what I specifically gained, but I went with Hooker long tube headers and mid pipes. The exhaust is now two cats lighter.
I kept the rest stock.
